I found a Sadang Station date bar that nails both vibe and taste!!! With its pretty interior and delicious side dishes, it's perfect for anniversaries and blind dates, and with its cozy bar table and room it's also great for solo drinking or small gatherings. This is my very satisfied review of Dophan, a wine bar in Sadang.

Dophan is located at 454-19 Bangbae-dong, Seocho-gu, a 4-minute walk from Sadang Station. Parking support isn't available, but public transit access is so good that I just took the subway.

## Inside Dophan: the mood and the private room

The interior vibe is really great!! It's a Sadang bar with an amazing atmosphere—casual dining that isn't too heavy, so it seems perfect for dates and blind dates!! Cake bring-in is also allowed, so it's ideal for anniversaries and birthday parties too.

There's also a private room that fits 7 to 9 people. It's half-open but separated from the general seating, and the AC was blasting, so it seemed great for small gatherings. The room was clean and pretty too!

It can't just be atmosphere, right—the side dishes were seriously my type, right up any woman's alley haha, felt like playing princess. There's a wide range from meal-worthy dishes to light bites for pairing with wine and whiskey. I fell for the menu and dragged my boyfriend here.

After much deliberation over the side dishes, I ordered the bolognese pasta and the charcuterie cheese platter. There were so many things I wanted to try. Naver Place, Kakao Map, and Catch Table were full of rave reviews about the food, and I can 100% confirm it's amazing. Everyone, definitely check the food photos on Naver Place—the gochujang cream gnocchi, steak, and truffle salmon cream stew looked insanely good too.

House red wine (bottle ₩39,000, glass ₩11,000). The staff explained the wine and opened it neatly, and they gave us a wine pourer so we could pour without spilling. You can't spill wine while on an anniversary date or blind date!!! And you definitely don't want to waste a drop while doing a small gathering or birthday party!!!

The house wine's taste was solidly good too, so we kept ordering more by the glass. It's not too sweet or too astringent, so it seems like a great pick that suits most palates!

## Bolognese pasta, 20,900 won, with house-made ragu

Bolognese pasta (₩20,900). The bolognese pasta comes topped with a handmade ragu sauce. I love ragu pasta so I'm kind of picky (?) about sauce depth, but I was surprised—the meaty aroma was rich and the flavor was great. Definitely not a sweet, light tomato sauce—the deep meaty aroma and flavor slapped even some restaurants twice.

The cheese on top was also rich and nutty, so good. The bolognese sauce and cheese paired so well I never got tired of it! True to a Sadang wine bar known for great side dishes, it went really well with the red wine too. They didn't skimp on meat or cheese either, which was a satisfying point.

Charcuterie cheese platter M (₩17,900). I love pairing a cheese platter with red wine solo! It's a mix of charcuterie, cheese, and olives, and the price was reasonable so I gave it a try.

It was great to get a reasonable taste of jamón, salami, and chorizo charcuterie along with a solid cheese lineup. The charcuterie had no gamey smell at all! The olives were also tasty with no unpleasant funk. I'd recommend this as a light solo-drinking snack or a second-round side dish.
