## In short

Hey Joji is a Western-style restaurant in an alley at the far end of Yeonnam-dong, Seoul, leading toward Yeonhui-dong, with a warm American-house feel. Visiting after 2pm, the writer ordered jambalaya risotto with a side of corn ribs and homemade lemonade — generous shrimp and squid toppings, but a familiar, ketchup-forward flavor on the punchier side. A solid Yeonnam-dong date spot for anyone who likes a cozy setting and familiar flavors.

I had some errands in Yeonnam-dong and finally made it to Hey Joji, a place I'd bookmarked ages ago 🍝 Thanks to its warm, distinctive vibe, plenty of couples and friend groups were visiting — it felt like a natural fit for a Yeonnam-dong date :-)

⏰ Hours: 12:00–21:00 (no closed days)

## Location and atmosphere at Hey Joji

Hey Joji sits on a quiet alley at the far end of Yeonnam-dong, right where it leads into Yeonhui-dong. Rather than flashy or crowded, the space has a warm, comfortable feel, making it a nice option for a Yeonnam-dong date course!

![Hey Joji's terrace waiting area](https://img.superchart.com/images/hey-george-yeonnam-corn-rib-jambalaya/hey-george-yeonnam-corn-rib-jambalaya-03-auxzq-966.webp)

During busy hours, there's a waiting space on the terrace for people to sit while they wait, and there's also a mirror photo spot on one side that's great for pictures.

## That warm feeling of stepping into an American home

![4-person sofa booths on the left side of Hey Joji's entrance](https://img.superchart.com/images/hey-george-yeonnam-corn-rib-jambalaya/hey-george-yeonnam-corn-rib-jambalaya-05-wl4f3-966.webp)

Walking into Hey Joji, two 4-person sofa booths are set up on the left side. This space felt especially cozy, perfect for a couple wanting to set the mood and eat leisurely — though since they're not 2-person tables, I'm not sure if they'll always seat just two of you 😣

Most of the tables are on the right side, which has a brighter, more cheerful feel — great for taking pretty photos of your food or the space~

The lighting, wall colors, and little decor pieces all blend together to create Hey Joji's signature atmosphere. Even though I visited past 2pm, customers kept streaming in — both diners already eating and new ones just arriving — which honestly surprised me 😯

## Homemade-feeling pasta and risotto menu

## Jambalaya risotto and corn ribs: a punchy, familiar flavor

Once seated, the staff set up the basic table settings for us.

I ordered the jambalaya risotto as my main, along with corn ribs and lemonade! I really did enjoy a proper, hearty spread at Hey Joji, a Yeonnam-dong favorite 🤭

![A glass of Hey Joji's homemade lemonade](https://img.superchart.com/images/hey-george-yeonnam-corn-rib-jambalaya/hey-george-yeonnam-corn-rib-jambalaya-16-1etiu-966.webp)

### Homemade lemonade

I ordered the homemade lemonade, and it came out first — probably because it's prepped in advance. Despite being called 'homemade,' the taste wasn't dramatically different, but nothing beats a refreshing lemonade alongside Western food~ And the portion for the price was seriously generous!!

### Jambalaya risotto

Jambalaya apparently refers to an American-style fried rice made by cooking meat, seafood, vegetables, and rice together.

![Risotto showing shrimp and squid toppings](https://img.superchart.com/images/hey-george-yeonnam-corn-rib-jambalaya/hey-george-yeonnam-corn-rib-jambalaya-20-1qcav-966.webp)

![A spoonful of jambalaya risotto rice](https://img.superchart.com/images/hey-george-yeonnam-corn-rib-jambalaya/hey-george-yeonnam-corn-rib-jambalaya-21-1bocr-966.webp)

I felt like I'd been eating a lot of noodles lately, so I deliberately ordered a rice dish. The rice grains had a nice pop to them, and I could tell some flakes were sprinkled in, giving it a pleasant crunch here and there. The hearty sausage catches your eye, but honestly there's a good amount of plump shrimp (3 pieces) and tender squid too! So there's no need to worry about running out of toppings before you finish the rice :)

The flavor was a tomato sauce with a bit of cheese mixed in for creaminess, along with a punchy, familiar ketchup-style taste. The atmosphere feels like something you'd cook up in an American home, but the taste itself is closer to what you'd get at a familiar, punchy franchise chain? I think people with a kid-friendly palate would really enjoy this, and maybe that's why most of the customers looked to be in their early-to-mid 20s.

### Corn ribs

It's corn season these days, and there are so many corn-eating videos on YouTube that I found myself craving corn too, so I ordered the corn ribs 🌽

There was no knife or plastic gloves, so after some hesitation I just speared the corn cob with my fork. Hey Joji's corn ribs combine the corn's natural nuttiness with salty seasoning — mixed together, it's... how do I put it? Not exactly a wildly special flavor, but more like a fun, different way to enjoy corn as a side dish.

## A Yeonnam-dong date spot for those with a kid-friendly palate in their 20s

Hey Joji, a Yeonnam-dong favorite, let me enjoy pasta and risotto in a warm, American-house atmosphere! The space itself is cozy and comfortable, but the food leans more punchy and familiar than I expected — which might actually make it more enjoyable for people with a kid-friendly palate. If you're looking for a Yeonnam-dong date course to share with a friend or partner who likes familiar, punchy flavors, this could be worth a visit :-)
