Today I'm bringing you a review of Cheongdam Dak Kalguksu, a spot in Bokjeong-dong, Seongnam, known for its deep, rich broth. It's a great place to stop by whenever you're craving chicken kalguksu (noodle soup) that warms you right up! I visited as a sponsored guest, but I was genuinely satisfied — let me start with the basics about the restaurant! 💗🤗

## Where is Cheongdam Dak Kalguksu, and what are its hours and parking?

Cheongdam Dak Kalguksu is located at 1F, 109 Bokjeong-ro, Sujeong-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do (Bokjeong-dong). It's open daily from 10:00 to 20:30 (last order 20:00), closed on Sundays. There are about 2–3 parking spots right in front, and if those are full, you can park in a nearby alley or a public parking lot.

Here's the storefront! With a clean white sign reading 'Cheongdam Dak Kalguksu,' it was easy to spot. There's parking space right out front, but it's fairly tight.

## Tablet ordering and the Cheongdam Dak Kalguksu menu

Every table has a tablet ordering system, which made ordering simple. The main menu, including the egg chicken kalguksu and spicy chicken kalguksu, was easy to browse at a glance!

Besides kalguksu, there's also a chicken gomtang (chicken soup) lineup, and even chogye guksu (cold noodles in a tangy sauce), a summer specialty — plenty of variety to pick from depending on your mood.

The solo-dining set menu was also really well put together! It lets you enjoy kalguksu with either suyuk (boiled pork) or mandu (dumplings) at a good price, all clearly laid out on the tablet screen.

The side menu includes mini suyuk, galbi mandu, and kimchi mandu! I ordered the hearty kimchi mandu as a side to go with my egg chicken kalguksu.

On one side of the table, tissues, pepper, salt, and paper cups were all neatly and hygienically set up! There was also a sign about the Naver receipt review event, which gives you a free plate of galbi mandu — definitely worth taking part in 🤗

## Inside Cheongdam Dak Kalguksu: the dining room and the self-serve kimchi bar

The interior was cozy and kept spotless overall. Two- and four-person tables were arranged efficiently, making it comfortable for dates, solo meals, or group dining alike!

Here's the tidy self-serve bar on one side of the restaurant. Plates and utensils are stacked up top, and the cabinet below neatly stores the kimchi varieties that pair perfectly with kalguksu.

Here's the side dish corner of the self-serve bar! I really appreciated that Cheongdam Dak Kalguksu offers separate 'spicy kimchi (spice level ★★★★★)' and kkakdugi (radish kimchi) so you can pick based on your taste.

For those who can't handle spice, there was also 'less-spicy kimchi.' Both the kkakdugi and kimchi looked so appetizing, I was really looking forward to trying them.

At the top of the self-serve bar, plates were stacked high for anyone to take as needed, and scissors, tongs, and spoons were all hygienically organized, making everything easy to use.

## Egg chicken kalguksu, 11,900 won: how is the broth?

At last, the egg chicken kalguksu (₩11,900) I'd been waiting for arrived! A big bowl was filled with savory egg broth, topped generously with shredded chicken, gim (seaweed) flakes, and green onion. The rich, savory aroma hit me the moment it arrived, and I couldn't help but drool 🤪🧡

I tried the broth first — wow, it was truly rich, savory, and deep in flavor, amazing! The chicken wasn't dry at all, it was so tender, and there wasn't a hint of gamey or fishy smell, so I could enjoy it cleanly right down to the last bite 🥹🤎

I lifted up a big bite of noodles and chicken with my chopsticks! Chewy, springy noodles tangled with generous shredded chicken made for an amazing texture. The broth soaked well into the noodles, and it felt like it was warming me up from the inside 💟

### What does the kalguksu taste like with spicy kimchi on top?

I piled the spicy kimchi from the self-serve bar right onto the noodles and tried it. Wow, this kimchi is seriously something else! 🥹 The tingling spiciness of the kimchi made for an insane combination with the savory, deep broth of the kalguksu. If you're sensitive to spice, keep in mind it might be a bit much — good luck! haha

## Kimchi mandu, 6,900 won: is the side worth ordering?

The kimchi mandu (₩6,900) I ordered as a side arrived piping hot in a steamer! Through the glossy, thin dumpling skin, you could see the kimchi filling inside — it made my mouth water just looking at it.

![Kimchi mandu served in a steamer](https://img.superchart.com/images/cheongdam-dak-kalguksu-egg-spicy-kimchi/cheongdam-dak-kalguksu-egg-spicy-kimchi-18-11r6n-900.webp)

I gently moved one dumpling onto my plate. The skin was thin and chewy, and I could feel the hearty weight of the filling the moment I picked it up with my chopsticks. It was packed full, so the bite was satisfying, and the seasoning wasn't too strong — mild and clean, making it perfect to pair with the other dishes!

## Final verdict: is Cheongdam Dak Kalguksu in Bokjeong-dong worth a visit?

Here's my proof-of-finish shot after a satisfying meal! I left a little of the kimchi mandu since I was too full, but I cleared the main dish — the egg chicken kalguksu — down to the last drop of broth! The empty bowl says it all: the broth, noodles, and kimchi combo was exactly my taste.

Deep, savory broth, tender chicken with no gamey smell, and spicy kimchi that kept me coming back for more — Cheongdam Dak Kalguksu in Bokjeong-dong had it all. If you're craving a proper bowl of kalguksu that warms you up from the inside, I definitely recommend paying a visit!
