## In short

Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station is a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant in Daechi-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, near Exit 2 of Seolleung Station, where every sushi and maki plate is a flat 1,990 won. Sitting alone at the bar, the writer took plates off the rail and ordered four seasonal items, and the lightly seared salmon torro chip sushi was the clear favorite, worth two extra plates. For a cheap, pick-as-you-go meal on your own, Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station is an easy choice.

Sushi these days can get surprisingly pricey for one meal, but I found a conveyor-belt sushi place where every plate is just ₩1,990 haha. So this time I went for a cost-effective sushi run at Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station, a Daechi-dong sushi spot. With so many kinds on offer, it was genuinely fun just picking whatever I felt like eating! Let me introduce it :)

Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station is just a short walk from Exit 2 of Seolleung Station. It's on the 2nd floor of the building, but the sign is big enough that first-time visitors shouldn't have trouble finding it! Close to Seolleung Station and easy to reach from the Daechi-dong side, it's a convenient spot when you're looking for Daechi-dong sushi.

## Bar seats and waiting space that make solo dining easy

Heading up to the 2nd floor, there's a separate waiting area right in front of the shop. Since every plate is only ₩1,990, it gets busy during lunch and dinner peak hours! Still, having seats to wait in made the wait feel a lot more comfortable.

The interior was bigger than I expected! There are about 5 tables good for groups,

and bar seats running along the conveyor rail too, so it felt totally fine going alone. I sat right down at the bar that day haha. Quite a few other people were eating solo too, so it seemed like a good spot for anyone looking for a place to eat sushi solo in Daechi-dong!

Once you sit down, soy sauce, wasabi, pickled radish, and ginger are all set out as basics. You just help yourself to as much as you need, and the setup made it easy to eat comfortably even alone. Now I was fully ready to dig into some sushi!

## 1,990 won a plate, around 60 kinds of sushi and maki

Sushi Ian N's biggest strength is definitely the price. With about 60 kinds of sushi and maki, there's a huge range to choose from, all at a flat ₩1,990 per plate! Given today's sushi prices, that's genuinely easy on the wallet haha. Beyond sushi there are also sides and desserts, so it was fun mixing and matching a bit of everything. If you're after cost-effective Daechi-dong sushi, the price alone will win you over!

Plates keep circling past on the rail right in front of you, so whenever something catches your eye you just grab it. I started with four plates that caught my attention first!

### Off the rail: raw salmon, beef tartare and wagyu truffle basil tataki sushi

I picked up raw salmon, shrimp and egg sushi, yukhoe (beef tartare) sushi, and wagyu truffle basil tataki sushi. The wagyu truffle basil tataki sushi in particular had that savory wagyu flavor layered with truffle and basil — the kind of taste that kept popping back into my head lol.

After finishing those quickly, I browsed the rail again and grabbed a few more that caught my eye! This time it was soy-marinated shrimp sushi, live fish with aged kimchi sushi, and scallop maki.

![A plate of scallop maki](https://img.superchart.com/images/sushi-ian-and-seolleung-salmon-toro-chip/sushi-ian-and-seolleung-salmon-toro-chip-14-1gq0e-900.webp)

The salty soy shrimp was delicious, and the raw fish sushi topped with aged kimchi had great umami! The scallop maki was genuinely tasty too.

After all that raw fish, I was craving something a bit sweet, so I grabbed an egg sushi too. Soft and sweet — perfect as a palate break in the middle!

## Four seasonal plates ordered straight from the bar seat

This time I also ordered the seasonal menu items I'd been curious about: truffle flounder scallion sushi, engawa caviar sushi, salmon torro scallion chip sushi, and seared tuna furikake tataki sushi! At the bar seats you just tell the staff directly, and they were freshly made and brought right over. But wait — what on earth is going on with the look of that salmon torro scallion chip sushi?!

First up, engawa caviar sushi! Soft, savory engawa (fluke fin) topped with caviar — the caviar's briny note came through subtly and the combination was pretty great.

The truffle flounder scallion sushi had flounder with truffle oil and a generous pile of scallions on top. The truffle aroma wasn't overpowering, just gently spreading through, and it paired better with the flounder than I expected.

Seared tuna furikake tataki sushi has tuna lightly seared on the outside. I wasn't expecting much, but honestly this was surprisingly good too?! The savory flavor of the lightly seared tuna really worked.

### The top pick: seared salmon torro chip sushi

And then, among the new items, the one that made me go 'whoa... this is insane!' the moment I tasted it — salmon torro scallion chip sushi. The salmon comes out lightly seared, and the fattiness that rises off it is so savory...! Add the crispy scallion chips on top and the texture is great too. My clear favorite of everything I ate this time! You have to try it haha.

It was so good I ended up ordering two more plates of the salmon torro scallion chip sushi! And I also tried two plates of red seabream matsukawa caviar sushi, which I hadn't had before.

![A second order of salmon torro scallion chip sushi and red seabream matsukawa caviar sushi](https://img.superchart.com/images/sushi-ian-and-seolleung-salmon-toro-chip/sushi-ian-and-seolleung-salmon-toro-chip-22-10lrw-900.webp)

The salmon torro scallion chip was just as good the second time around lol. If you like a savory salmon, I really recommend it!

The red seabream matsukawa caviar sushi pairs red seabream with caviar on top. Overall clean and reliably tasty, so it seems like a good pick for anyone who likes a lighter, more subtle sushi.

![Cool melon served as a palate cleanser at the end](https://img.superchart.com/images/sushi-ian-and-seolleung-salmon-toro-chip/sushi-ian-and-seolleung-salmon-toro-chip-24-1b3pc-900.webp)

## Finishing a cheap Daechi-dong sushi meal with melon

After eating my fill of sushi, I finished off with some cool, refreshing melon! I picked and ate exactly what I felt like once again haha. At ₩1,990 a plate the price is easy to handle, and with new seasonal items always rotating in, there's real fun in choosing your own plates. The salmon torro scallion chip sushi I had this time in particular was my top pick...! I'll probably order it again next time too lol. It's easy for eating solo as well, so if you're looking for cost-effective Daechi-dong sushi, this place is worth a visit :)
