Not being able to shoot with a variety of hairstyles remained such a huge disappointment..ㅠ So I thought, let’s do an outdoor snapshot shoot at a good value! And I booked a shoot at Noeul Park! Since it seemed best to get hair and makeup done near Noeul Park, I looked for makeup studios in Hongdae! There were several recommended makeup studios, but the one with the cleanest look and references I liked most was Today Makeup (오늘메이크업), a Hongdae makeup studio. Looking through reviews, I thought I could get high-quality hair and makeup for the price. I brought a dress that needed its corset tightened, so my fiancé and I practiced hard the day before—but there was absolutely no need to practice! My skin is tricky because I have a lot of redness and a heavy base does not work for me, so they removed and redid it several times. But at Today Makeup, I was so pleased that my assigned artist did everything starting with the base. For my eye makeup, she applied the individual lash clusters I wanted so prettily, one by one. My eyes can look a little stuffy when the waterline is filled in too heavily, and she caught that point exactly when doing my eye makeup. Looking at the photos my hair-change stylist took on an iPhone, my skin was truly glowingㅠㅠ I have a ton of pores, so I worried, what if they stand outㅠㅠ But not at all!! Instead, I could see a beautiful, smooth glow!! Even when the sun hit just right, the blush showed through softly and made my skin look even prettierㅠㅠ Honestly, I looked into many famous makeup studios in Cheongdam too, and since there is quite a price difference, I wondered whether there would be a difference in quality. But after getting it done myself, I thought there was no need to insist on an expensive Cheongdam studio! I really loved the color makeup too: they understood the mood I usually like and the colors that suit my face, creating something that was not overdone yet looked clear and beautiful in photosㅠ The skin finish was clean without feeling stuffy or thick, and I absolutely loved the overall balance!! Such incredible staying power!! After shooting at Noeul Park and Hangang Park in weather around 32°C, I even ate gopchang (grilled beef intestines), and it was still going strong. Compared with the makeup I had done at a Cheongdam studio, it did not feel noticeably less long-lasting at all. If anything, considering the price too, I was truly so satisfied. I was happy enough that I would want to come back for my next important occasion :) I worried, what if I do not like it because it is a great-value makeup studioㅠㅠ But Today Makeup satisfied me as much as a Cheongdam studio.
