I'd been craving gyukatsu for ages, and sure enough, it was so good — tender Japanese-style beef cutlet!! This Sinbu-dong gyukatsu favorite, Izawa, is on the 2nd floor. The two of us shared one, and once we ordered, the staff lit it up for us. The steak-don visuals were insane. There was a lot of meat. Gyukatsu comes out completely rare, only fried crisp on the outside — you grill it further to your own taste on the personal brazier. Sizzle sizzle haha. At first I was only grilling one or two pieces at a time, but after one bite I just piled the whole grill full. And the taste was insane too. Personally, I liked the steak-don even more than the gyukatsu! Having a personal brazier meant we could eat the food warm from start to finish. I visited Izawa Cheonan Sinbu-dong Branch while out on a Sinbu-dong date, craving Japanese-style gyukatsu, and I ate so well. My top pick was the steak-don!!! I'm planning to go back just for that.
