## Fig soufflé I found in Hongdae

Think Fruit, a Hongdae dessert café famous for soufflé. I was chatting with my sister and found out she had visited before too, hahaha. As of my September visit, there were two kinds—fig and peach—and I went with fig. Totally satisfied!!!!!! Here’s my Think Fruit review for anyone looking for a great Hongdae soufflé café ~

It looks like Think Fruit has two branches, one in Bucheon and one in Hongdae, and it is already hugely famous as a spot for great Hongdae soufflé!

Honestly, I was more drawn to the peach, but I have so many peaches at home that ordering peach felt like a bit of a loss(?)—so I got fig ... ^^ Since it is known as a Hongdae soufflé café, they had photos of these insanely gorgeous soufflés outside, probably stopping quite a few people in their tracks ㅠ

## An open café with lovely natural light

The sunlight poured in sooo well, and the whole café had an open feel to every seat. I’d say there were around 15 tables. I personally prefer bright cafés to dark ones, and I was so pleased with the natural light—it also gave the place a warm feeling.

As expected, the most popular seats were right in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows! Getting some sunshine and doing a little photosynthesis just makes you feel so good.

There was a cute photo zone too, but I cannot even remember whether I had showered that day. I looked too much of a mess, so I’ll pass.

## What we ordered and the soufflé wait

Other than its famous soufflé, Think Fruit’s coffee and drink lineup was like that of any café, but the interesting point was the menu items and drinks using Häagen-Dazs ice cream! There was something written on the entrance door about being a Häagen-Dazs whatever-location, but I forgot what the whatever was ^_^

- Fig soufflé — ₩20,000
- Americano — ₩5,500
- Salted cream milk tea — ₩7,500

The salted cream milk tea seemed to be the signature menu among the coffee drinks, so I ordered it. Since the soufflé is made fresh to order, it takes at least 20 minutes to finish, or around 30–40 minutes if not. If you order thinking you will eat quickly and leave, you are in for a surprise.

There were piles of figs and peaches beside the counter, and I was sooo curious how long it would take this famous Hongdae soufflé spot to go through all of them, hahahahaㅠㅠ

Because the soufflé comes much later, they ask when you would like your drinks when ordering, and we chose to have them first. They bring everything directly to your table, which was super convenient. The Americano tasted like Americano ~ What else am I supposed to say? ㅠ Please excuse me, I know nothing about coffee.

## Salted cream milk tea piled high with cream

Personally, when I order a coffee drink with cream on top, I love places that really give you a thick layer—and they gave us so much cream that the amount of drink almost felt disappointing, hahaha.

And this cream was not just ... not just firm and dense ... Can you see that sturdy texture? It was such thick, rich cream that you could spread it on bread, and one sweet bite made it feel like blood was rushing through my body ㅠ

I ended up using the fork they gave us for the soufflé more diligently for eating the cream. My mom ordered an Americano but fell for this cream and ate it so happily, hahaha. For me, the cream was great, but the salted coffee milk tea underneath was sooo, sooo good!!!!!!!! Jasmine milk tea and espresso blended together in this mysterious way, with a little salty note somewhere in there too—it was so charming and insanely addictive ㅠ I guess when you do not know what to order at a café you are visiting for the first time, you really should get the one with the best-seller label ...

## Fig soufflé that disappears in your mouth

The fig soufflé arrived looking just as amazing as the photo outside earlier.

Think Fruit’s soufflé comes in three big pieces, and they give you plenty of figs too, so I loved being able to top every last bite of soufflé with a piece of fig.

You know how, at a barbecue place with especially tender meat, people exaggerate that they could chew it with their gums? This is seriously, genuinely possible—no exaggeration, no joking around. Like those puffed rice snacks little kids eat that melt in your mouth, it just ... disappears in your mouth ... So, so soft ... ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

I could tell from the salted milk tea too, but the cream was truly delicious, so soufflé + cream + fig was the absolute best combo!!!!! Fluffy, pillowy soufflé that melts in your mouth without any eggy smell or excessive sweetness. This really was a great Hongdae soufflé spot—why did I only come now?

They also put a scoop of Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream on one side, but the cream went so well with it that the ice cream felt overshadowed, hahahahahaha. It is the first time in my life I have neglected Häagen-Dazs like this ㅠㅠ

I was completely moved that they had filled the area beneath the cream, where you cannot see it from the outside, with figs too 🥹🥹 When I divided one piece of soufflé into four bites, I actually had figs left over, so I got to fully enjoy the fig flavor again at the end—how nice is that?

Cake is usually my favorite kind of dessert, but this was the place that first made me realize how charming soufflé can be! I wondered if there could be another dessert this soft, and the pairing with fruit was so good too. Think Fruit is a Hongdae café with seriously delicious desserts.
