The octopus wasn't too tough — it had a nice plump, chewy texture — and the sweet-spicy sauce was soaked in pretty deeply. If you eat hot-plate food and skip the fried rice, it feels like you left without finishing the meal, right haha. Instead of regular fried rice, we ordered the cheese fried rice. The rice gets stir-fried in the leftover spicy octopus sauce, and once cheese is added on top, this combo is nearly impossible to make bad!!!!!!!!! The sauce soaks into every grain of rice, so it's salty and spicy, but with the cheese added it becomes much more savory and soft. Scraping up the bits that got slightly crisped onto the hot plate was seriously delicious. Even though we were already pretty full from the spicy octopus with pork belly, the cheese fried rice kept going in — such a strange phenomenon haha.
