Now that the weather's turned pleasantly cool for walking, I've been finding myself back in Jongno's Seosunra-gil, Seochon, and the Ikseon-dong alleys a lot lately. Walking that much works up an appetite, and that day I found myself craving the soft, moist garlic bread from Munhwa Bakery (문화제빵), so I stopped by.

Munhwa Bakery sits on the hanok street in Ikseon-dong, just 3 minutes from Exits 6 and 7 of Jongno 3-ga Station, so it's an easy add to a bakery-hopping route. The tiled-roof hanok-style exterior makes it easy to spot. There's no dedicated parking, so I'd recommend using a nearby public parking lot.

### What's on display

Alongside the signature garlic bread and onion bagel, there was a wide bakery lineup on display — coffee bread, cheese bread, injeolmi (sweet rice cake) bread, and loaf breads. If it's your first visit to this Ikseon-dong bakery, I'd definitely recommend trying the soft garlic bread.

## How the garlic bread and onion bagel tasted

The garlic bread tastes like the kind I've had plenty of times at Ikseon-dong bakeries, but it's moist and addictive every single time. I usually pair bread with coffee, but Munhwa Bakery's garlic bread is so addictive I ended up finishing it on the spot without any coffee at all. The onion bagel also had a lively aroma and sweetness, with the crunch of onion pieces and generous cream cheese making it savory and satisfying.
