I was hunting for a good sandwich place near Hannam Station and came across Dance Dance Dance Hannam. The baguette chicken breast sandwich caught my eye right away.

It's been about two months since I came to Korea. At first I was completely absorbed in hanjeongsik (Korean full-course meals) and chasing nostalgic flavors I hadn't had in a long time, but lately I've started craving the things I used to eat often in the US — burgers, pizza, sandwiches.

I happened to have errands in Hannam-dong, so I stopped by, packed sandwiches to go, and brought them all the way to Suji to eat with my mom.

## Getting there from Hannam Station and hours

From Hannam Ogeori intersection, just walk uphill a little way along Dokseodang-ro.

Dance Dance Dance Hannam is on the 1st floor at 67 Dokseodang-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. It's walkable from Hannam Station and opens at 8am. Good spot if you're after coffee and a sandwich for breakfast in this neighborhood.

## The vibe inside and how the wait works

The store isn't huge, but there was a steady stream of customers ordering at the kiosk. It was pretty busy when I went, so I'd imagine there's a wait during peak times.

According to the signage, if there's a wait you write your name on a list, and dining time is capped at 1.5 hours when there's a queue.

I didn't eat in that day — I got mine to go.

Can't have a sandwich without coffee, right? They had a solid coffee lineup too, from Americano to oat milk latte to cold brew.

Further inside you can see the baguettes and the oven. The filling matters, sure, but I care about the bread just as much, so my eyes went straight there.

This place brands itself as a wellness sandwich shop — you could tell they put real thought into the bread and the fillings.

## The menu lineup and what to order

The menu had a good range — baguette sandwich, chicken breast sandwich, jambon jalapeño, egg potato, pollock roe potato, tuna jalapeño, and more.

Since it was my first time, I asked the staff for their most popular picks, and they recommended the chicken breast sandwich and the baguette sandwich. So I ordered the chicken breast on baguette, and swapped the baguette sandwich onto ciabatta instead.

There was also a tofu cream cheese option made with domestic tofu and cream cheese — a combination you don't usually see in sandwich fillings, so it caught my eye.

That said, this isn't a dedicated vegan or gluten-free brand.

### How big are the sandwiches?

When I first saw photos of the sandwiches at the store, they looked big enough that I wondered if two would be enough to share. But once I got them in hand, they were a bit smaller than I expected — probably because I'm used to the hefty sandwiches back in the US.

The store notice said the sandwiches taste best within 30 minutes of being made. I wanted to dig in right away since I had to get all the way to Suji, but I held off.

## The taste after packing it all the way to Suji to share with mom

I brought them from Hannam-dong all the way home to eat with my mom. She doesn't usually have sandwiches like this, but she enjoyed it — hadn't had one in a while. Her teeth are still strong, so she handled the baguette bread just fine.

### Chicken breast sandwich (baguette)

The chicken breast sandwich had finely shredded chicken breast and crunchy red cabbage. A mustard-based sauce kept it from being dry, and the vegetables added good texture.

With chicken and vegetables both in the mix, it didn't feel too heavy as a full meal.

### Baguette sandwich (swapped to ciabatta)

I ordered the baguette sandwich on ciabatta instead. It's a familiar combo — ham, cheese, and vegetables — but a sweet, slightly tangy mustard kept it from being plain.

Splitting the two let us compare flavors. The chicken breast side had more crunch from the vegetables and the sauce stood out more, while the ham and cheese side felt more familiar.

## Running discount and group orders

The store also runs a fun promotion: show proof of a 2km+ run logged that day and get ₩1,000 off an Americano or latte.

If you need to order several sandwiches at once, group orders are possible too. Call the store 2–3 days ahead and they'll prep them for whatever time you need — good to know for office or group orders.

After weeks of chasing Korean food and nostalgic flavors since arriving in Korea, it was nice to have a sandwich like the ones I used to eat often in the US. Packing it from Hannam-dong and sharing it with my mom made the meal even more memorable.
