Tap tap tap ๑◕‿‿◕๑

I went with my 17-month-old baby to eat premium Korean beef at Marblejeong, a well-known spot in Seongsu. These days we go to Seoul Forest a lot with the baby, so when I'm craving beef we stop by Marblejeong before moving on. Of course I can't go often, but this time it happened to be my birthday week, so we went. Haha

Marblejeong offers free tableside grilling and all kinds of handmade sauces with such an elegant taste that I'm impressed every time I come.

Hello! I'm a blogger who loves photos and writing. I went to Marblejeong for a birthday meal with my 17-month-old son. It wasn't the baby's birthday — September 8th was actually my own birthday. Eating out with my baby is basically my everyday life now, but for today I wanted something special, so I stamped my mark at Marblejeong, a famous Korean beef spot in Seongsu.

Marblejeong is already famous by word of mouth among celebrities, locals, and foreign visitors alike as a Korean beef restaurant in Seongsu. There's a free parking lot right next to the restaurant.

There are plenty of premium Korean beef specialty restaurants, but Marblejeong has its own clear identity. The dark, moody interior design and the service — especially great for visiting with kids — really stood out to me. Hotel-level service plus a formal full-course spread.

### How big is Marblejeong's dining room, and is there group seating?

Marblejeong, the famous Korean beef restaurant in Seongsu, has a very large dining hall. There are group seating areas set up individually, and the tables themselves are big, so you can enjoy beef comfortably with plenty of room.

Since it specializes in premium Korean beef, gift sets are well stocked too, and if you get wine to go, you get 20% off.

## Marblejeong 400g mixed grill price and the 20% lunch discount

Marblejeong's premium Korean beef mixed grill 400g is ₩159,000. If you visit during lunch hours (11:00–14:00), you can get it at a 20% discount for ₩127,200.

Usually just buying premium Korean beef at a butcher shop costs well over ₩100,000, so with all the delicious side dishes plus free tableside grilling included, this price point is quite a merit, don't you think?

## Marblejeong side dishes: shiitake mushroom with wasabi is the top pick

Marblejeong serves salad and seasoned lettuce with real polish too. We stopped by to celebrate a birthday with my child, and the service was so kind, and the classic little bowls everything was served in put me in a great mood.

Seasoned bracken fern, wild garlic leaves.

Celery, gat kimchi (mustard leaf kimchi). Having celery served diagonally sliced as a side dish is a plating idea I want to try copying at home.

Handmade side dishes come out to pair with the beef. My absolute top pick among Marblejeong's side dishes is the shiitake mushroom wasabi. If you visit Marblejeong, you can try the shiitake mushroom wasabi — it's spicy, but also has a soy sauce flavor with deep umami, a real thumbs-up. It's a taste I'd never had before, somehow both familiar and delicately mixed with all kinds of flavors at once.

Handmade basil pesto sauce also comes out.

British Maldon salt is basically the standard for beef, right? The salt flakes are coarse, and it's sweet yet salty.

At Marblejeong's Korean beef course in Seongsu, dongchimi (watery radish kimchi) is also served, and once you try it, you'll let out a satisfied sigh.

## Staff grilling at the table and how juicy the sirloin turns out

Marblejeong's premium Korean beef mixed grill 400g came out as three cuts: sirloin, brisket, and short rib meat. Extra garnishes of asparagus, king oyster mushroom, potato, and garlic were also served.

While eating with my 17-month-old baby, the view across the way happened to be a construction site, so there were heavy machines visible — probably an extra-special moment for my baby.

We've been to plenty of BBQ places with the baby, but it's such a relief and a blessing when the staff grills for you. At home I always grill it myself, but today having a professional grill it to just the right doneness and serve it — that's the whole point of coming here.

The sirloin's juiciness is out of control. Everyone knows premium Korean beef is delicious, but it's still delicious every single time! And eating it with Marblejeong's handmade special sauces makes the beef feel even more special.

Among sirloin cuts, I really love the top blade sirloin (alsangsim), and at Marblejeong you can taste sirloin with that kind of quality. Regular sirloin and top blade sirloin actually taste subtly different.

### Is 400g of Korean beef enough for two adults and a 17-month-old?

My 17-month-old baby really ate a lot of the sirloin. I thought 400g would leave plenty for the two of us, but that was my mistake. I think this kid ate almost 300g by himself. Even when I was pregnant with severe morning sickness, beef was the only thing that ever went down. If you're visiting with a baby who has a good appetite, order extra beef.

As a real Korean, kimchi is a must, right? Notice it's not baechu (napa cabbage) kimchi but gat kimchi — you can feel the extra care. And yes, the kimchi is delicious too.

Oh right! Another sauce I thoroughly enjoyed at Marblejeong is the special soy sauce marinade. It's not the familiar sesame-soy dipping sauce we all know — it's a soy sauce marinade with real depth.

Having a full spread for lunch with my baby, from beef to side dishes, all for around ₩120,000 total, was thoroughly satisfying.

### How the short rib meat and beef brisket taste at Marblejeong

Short rib meat (galbisal) and beef brisket (chadolbaegi) each have a different texture and flavor, which makes eating them fun. Short rib meat has a proper chewy texture — it's actually one of my favorite cuts. I love melt-in-your-mouth parts like sirloin cap or tender shoulder meat too, but short rib meat, after sirloin, is my favorite for having that chewy bite.

Marblejeong's beef brisket has such a savory, rich, fatty flavor in your mouth! Good good. My baby ate this really well too.

## Prize draw for kids and the stairs up to Marblejeong's second floor

After eating well with my baby, washing our sticky hands, and even joining the Naver review event to get a Häagen-Dazs ice cream, this self-planned birthday food tour with my baby at Marblejeong left no regrets.

On top of that, as the meal was wrapping up, a staff member came over holding a box and told my baby to pick one out — a surprise event! Haha ♥ My baby got so excited receiving this. Maybe he thought it was a dinosaur egg?

When we opened the draw, it turned out to be a hair tie! Haha. I wonder if he picked it out to give to mom — talk about fate.

Since he's at the walking-well stage these days, we went down the stairs together to help digest. This place is on the 2nd floor with no elevator.

We finished up by picking up a latte from my favorite Raw Coffee Stand and stamping our attendance at Seoul Forest. Birthdays don't feel as thrilling as they used to, but eating a special lunch of premium Korean beef alone with my baby filled me with quiet, everyday happiness.
