The meat dishes especially are outrageously generous. I spotted several soldiers while I was there — and being the mom of a son myself, I found myself briefly imagining him in uniform someday, over breakfast of all things. ### Seokswoe bulgogi: smoky char and balanced marinade The seokswoe bulgogi had a great smoky char, and the seasoning ratio was spot-on. It was delicious wrapped in garlic and lettuce, or just piled on plain rice. Even at ₩15,000, the meat portion was generous and we enjoyed it fully. ### Old-style traditional yukgaejang Here comes the highlight — the traditional yukgaejang. It was so generously packed with meat. Full of hearty ingredients, we kept scooping spoonful after spoonful. It was packed full of brisket meat, and the broth was excellent too. We added plenty of chopped green onion to make it even tastier. I've had plenty of bossam and suyuk at various restaurants, but Yukdaejang's hanbang bossam had such thick, hefty slices of meat. Maybe because it's popular with soldiers, but every dish here felt incredibly generous. You can eat the bossam with their house-made makjang (soybean paste dip) and salted shrimp, wrapped with bossam kimchi, or wrapped with the seasoned chives. Hajun must have been hungry from the early morning drive, because he ate so well.
