I spend a lot of time around Kkachisan. It's close to home and has all kinds of great restaurants, so I end up there often for meals or a drink! I especially love meat, and I enjoy visiting different Korean BBQ spots. Recently I went to a pork specialty restaurant and the food was genuinely excellent, plus the whole meal felt really comfortable. So here's today's post about it!

## Gwangseonjip near Kkachisan Station: how the weekend CatchTable wait works

Gwangseonjip Kkachisan Station Main Branch is a pork specialty restaurant within walking distance of Kkachisan Station. Being so close to the subway makes it easy to visit. I'd passed by many times before and always noticed a line, which made me curious, so I finally visited this past weekend.

Since there's a wait, you can use CatchTable to get in line, which makes waiting much more comfortable. And personally what I loved most was that the meat isn't grilled at your table — it comes already grilled, which made for a really relaxed meal.

## Small touches at Gwangseonjip: side dish covers and a moss-lined interior

Gwangseonjip Kkachisan Station Main Branch, a recommended Korean BBQ spot near Kkachisan, is the kind of restaurant where you really feel the care they put into their guests. For one thing, the side dishes are set out in advance but covered so dust doesn't get in.

The interior features moss, which helps purify the air, so the space feels clean both visually and in terms of air quality. And when you order meat, they bring out enzymes, honey, and vitamins for you to take before eating — a nice detail to have before digging in. These little touches were so lovely! There were plenty more details too, so let me introduce them one by one.

## Drinks served in an ice basket, hangover relief tablets included

I ordered the half-order set menu. You can order comfortably from a kiosk right at your table. Clean side dishes and various sauces came out first.

I also ordered some drinks along with the meal, and that's where you see Gwangseonjip's second nice detail. They serve the drinks in an ice basket. I personally love this touch, and they even gave us hangover relief tablets along with it, making it easier to enjoy drinking comfortably.

## The pa-kimchi-jjim that comes with Gwangseonjip's half-order set

Order the Gwangseonjip half-order set and you get pa-kimchi-jjim (steamed green onion kimchi), which is genuinely delicious. I'm not usually a big kimchi person, but after one bite I immediately ordered rice to eat it together with the meat. Absolutely delicious. It's also available as a side dish on its own, so I definitely recommend it to anyone visiting.

## Half-order set: samgyeopsal, kkodeulsal and ppolsal, grilled in the kitchen

Next came the main dish, the half-order meat set. What I loved most was the convenience of it arriving already grilled. Instead of grilling at the table, the kitchen grills the meat and brings it out, so you can dig right in comfortably.

The meat is Jeju black pork samgyeopsal (pork belly), kkodeulsal (chewy pork jowl), and ppolsal (pork cheek) — a great menu for couples. There are two sauces poured over the meat, a spicy sauce and a galbi-flavored sauce. I chose the galbi-flavored sauce, and apparently the other sauce is meant for dipping the meat into. Along with the meat, there were various vegetables to pair with it too.

### Shiitake wasabi sauce was the best of Gwangseonjip's sauces

Look at how the meat looks! Doesn't it look amazing? All three cuts were genuinely delicious. Looking at these photos again makes me want to eat it all over.

There were various sauces to enjoy the meat with in different ways, and personally the shiitake wasabi sauce was the tastiest for me. It also paired wonderfully with the pa-kimchi-jjim and the meat! The portion was generous enough for two people, so we ate until we were full. The restaurant was quite pleasant and the staff were kind, making for a really enjoyable meal.

## Is Gwangseonjip worth it for Korean BBQ near Kkachisan Station?

Gwangseonjip Kkachisan Station Main Branch is a spotlessly clean restaurant, and after finishing the meal they even give you a candy to freshen your mouth — the final nice touch. It had been a while since I'd visited a Korean BBQ place, and I got to eat in such a pleasant setting with delicious food.

Having the meat come already grilled is definitely convenient, and with the variety of cuts and sauces plus the excellent side dishes, nothing is missing here. If you're looking for a Korean BBQ restaurant near Kkachisan Station, I recommend Gwangseonjip.
