I've been wanting to change up my hair color and also trim my hair since it had gotten pretty long, so this time I went to Marker Hair near Magok Station 💇‍♀️ I love a clean, sharp bob, so even a little extra length starts to feel messy 😭 So this time I got a clean black dye job and a bob cut done together at Marker Hair!

## What a one-person salon with a resident dog feels like

The place I visited this time, Marker Hair near Magok Station, has a dog around, so if you love dogs you'll probably feel extra comfortable and at ease here! Having a dog in the space definitely gives it a different atmosphere than a typical salon!

## Damaged hair consultation: why Marker Hair split the dye in two

We talked through my hair condition and the color I wanted, and since the ends of my hair were so damaged, we decided not to dye it all the same way, but to split it into two steps!

It was great that the consultation took my current hair condition into account while figuring out a direction that would suit the color I wanted. They factored in how damaged parts of my hair were when deciding the approach, and before doing the color, they started with the bob cut first!

## The bob cut, matched to the length I asked for

At Marker Hair near Magok Station, they trimmed away my previously long, damaged hair and shaped it into a clean bob! I loved that they cut it carefully to match the exact bob length I wanted.

## Black dye at the roots, damaged ends colored separately

They first carefully applied the bob-length dye to my roots, then moved on to applying dye to the damaged sections. It was set up as two different processes depending on hair condition, and I was curious how it would turn out! After the dye was applied evenly, we waited for the color to develop properly 🤗

Then it was over to the shampoo station for a thorough wash and blow-dry, and ta-da 🤗 Totally clean and tidy, right? The messy, damaged-looking hair got sorted right out.

## The result: patchy color turned into an even black bob

With the black color on top, it feels so much calmer and cleaner! Since I get bob-length magic straightening often, my color had gotten pretty patchy overall ㅠ The roots and the damaged parts especially had different tones, which bugged me every time I tied my hair up or it caught the light — but after this dye job, the whole color came together calmly and looks way cleaner!

The cut also came out exactly at the bob length I wanted, and they took care not to damage my hair any further, which I appreciated! It turned out exactly the style I wanted, and I really got that refresh I needed. Bob cuts especially change the whole vibe depending on length, and they really caught the feel I was going for, which I loved. It also seems easy to manage at home, so I think I'll keep coming back to Marker Hair for bob cuts from now on.
