A family gathered here on a weekend to celebrate their son's perfect dictation score and worked through salmon sushi, shrimp sushi, steamed shrimp, the new LA galbi (marinated short rib) and monkfish foie gras gunkan (battleship sushi), with the preschool-age son charged just 9,900 won. It's usually his favorite place anyway haha. Our whole family got together for a delicious meal for the first time in a while on the weekend. The only downside is that we get way too full haha. We took a nice walk afterward too. Kuu Kuu is always delicious, as usual ^^ ## How to book a table or join the wait at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch If you make a Naver Reservation ahead of time, you can walk into Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch without waiting. Park, take the elevator up to the 6th floor, and enter your info into the Catch Table waiting system. Same-day online reservations are also possible, so I'd recommend booking through Naver. The place is so spacious you usually don't wait long, but there can be a bit of a wait during peak times. ## First plates: salmon sushi for the son, shrimp sushi for mom My son, who's been obsessed with salmon lately, happily brought over Kuu Kuu's salmon dishes ^^ There's a lot for salmon lovers here, and the shrimp sushi selection is great too. I'm the shrimp fanatic, my son's the salmon fanatic. We started with sushi first ^^ Must-eats: LA galbi, steamed shrimp, salmon sushi, and shrimp sushi are all delicious. There's a new LA galbi (marinated short rib) menu now, so make sure to eat a lot of it. I only discovered it after I was already full, so I couldn't fully enjoy the ribs. The steamed shrimp was also a delicious specialty. ## Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch prices: preschool kids eat for 9,900 won Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch prices are 27,900 won for weekday lunch, 31,900 won for weekday dinner, and 35,900 won for weekends and holidays. Elementary school is 16,900 / 17,900 / 18,900 won, and preschool age is 9,900 won. Since my son is still preschool age ^^, it was just 9,900 won. Once he turns into an elementary schooler this March, the price jumps right away, so I should come two more times before then haha. Honestly, I went to Out* (a competitor buffet) not long ago haha, and even without eating that much, the bill shot past 100,000 won haha. And that was after calculating and agonizing over the menu the whole time. But at Kuu Kuu, you can eat as much and as variously as you want and still not hit 100,000 won. Given today's prices, it feels like a reasonable deal haha. At a conveyor belt sushi place recently, my son ate alone for just a bit and the bill was over 10,000 won haha. I ate one piece and put my chopsticks down. Each piece was 2,000 won haha, terrifying. There's a sashimi corner too. The basic sushi is excellent too. Ice cream is the standard rule haha — I love vanilla ice cream best, and my son loves marble ice cream. There's a lot of fruit too haha, but the trap is that everyone just ends up eating ice cream. The melon, watermelon, and apple were all delicious.
