## When you're craving sweet old-school cutlet and noodles

Sometimes I really crave that old-school Western-style Korean pork cutlet with loads of sweet sauce on top, haha. I wanted pork cutlet with a noodle dish on the side too, so this time I visited Onjeong Gyeongyang Sikdang! If you're looking for a great pork cutlet spot in Yongsan and want udon or buckwheat noodles alongside it, I especially want to recommend their sets. I tried two sets this time, and alternating between warm udon and cool buckwheat noodles made the meal even more filling and delicious.

Inside, it was clean, with warm wood tones and a soft atmosphere. They also had a separate high chair! There was a self-service bar on one side, too. You can add more rice and side dishes, so it seemed easy to grab as much as you need during the meal.

## Pork cutlet and noodle sets

Looking at the menu, they had spicy pork cutlet, cheddar cheese pork cutlet, and curry pork cutlet in addition to the standard Western-style cutlet. You can choose according to the sauce you like. Honestly, everything looked so good that it was way, way too hard to decide, ugh. The fried tofu and fish cake udon and cold green citrus buckwheat soba caught my eye among the noodle dishes. Each also came as a set with pork cutlet, so there was no need to choose just one thing, haha.

This time, I ordered the udon and Western-style pork cutlet set, plus the buckwheat noodles and spicy pork cutlet set. It's a great combination to note if you like having broth or noodles with your pork cutlet at Yongsan restaurants! Going as a pair meant we could try both the regular and spicy sauces, haha.

## Western-style pork cutlet with a cheerfully delicious sweet sauce

> Western-style pork cutlet with a cheerfully delicious sweet sauce!

![Western-style pork cutlet with sweet sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongsan-gyeongyang-donkatsu-sweet-sauce/yongsan-gyeongyang-donkatsu-sweet-sauce-08-12kbs-900.webp)

When the food arrived, the cutlet was generously covered in sauce. The nutty aroma mixed with the sweet scent of the sauce, and it looked so appetizing!!

The Western-style pork cutlet was crisp outside and moist inside, making it really pleasant to eat. With the smooth, sweet sauce, it reminded me of the familiar flavor of old-school pork cutlet, haha.

![Savory soup served with pork cutlet](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongsan-gyeongyang-donkatsu-sweet-sauce/yongsan-gyeongyang-donkatsu-sweet-sauce-11-lpmqx-900.webp)

The savory soup served alongside it was a great match, too. Alternating between the cutlet and soup gave the meal that comforting, nostalgic feeling unique to Western-style Korean fare.

## Stress-relieving spicy pork cutlet

> Stress-relieving spicy pork cutlet!

![Gently spicy pork cutlet](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongsan-gyeongyang-donkatsu-sweet-sauce/yongsan-gyeongyang-donkatsu-sweet-sauce-12-u3l7j-1200.webp)

The spicy pork cutlet had sweetness with a gentle kick of heat. For me, it didn't leave only an intensely spicy taste; it felt more like it cut through the richness midway through the meal, so it was nice to alternate with the regular cutlet.

At first, it was seriously spicy in my mouth, but by the time I finished, it somehow didn't feel that spicy? It was definitely spicy, yet addictive enough that I ate every bit, lol.

## Why I had the udon and cold green citrus soba as sets

> Why I recommend the sets, too!

![Fried tofu and fish cake udon with pork cutlet set](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongsan-gyeongyang-donkatsu-sweet-sauce/yongsan-gyeongyang-donkatsu-sweet-sauce-14-16be8-900.webp)

![Udon with fried tofu and fish cake](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongsan-gyeongyang-donkatsu-sweet-sauce/yongsan-gyeongyang-donkatsu-sweet-sauce-15-bhsy3-900.webp)

The fried tofu and fish cake udon had plenty of fried tofu and fish cake in it. Taking a sip of the warm broth while eating the pork cutlet was so satisfying and went really well together. The noodles were chewy, too, making them nice with the toppings; unlike eating only pork cutlet, it was lovely to have some broth in between.

![Cool green citrus buckwheat soba](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongsan-gyeongyang-donkatsu-sweet-sauce/yongsan-gyeongyang-donkatsu-sweet-sauce-17-1jqee-900.webp)

And the cold green citrus buckwheat soba? What more is there to say. Its cool broth had a sweet-tangy flavor, so it refreshed my palate between bites of cutlet, haha. Especially after a bite of spicy pork cutlet, the cold buckwheat noodles were such an awesome pairing, haha.

## Even strawberry jam on the morning rolls

> Even strawberry jam on the morning rolls... ♡

I spread strawberry jam on the bread that came with the meal, haha. Finishing the pork cutlet and noodles with sweet bread was another fun part of this Western-style Korean spread. Thanks to that, I didn't even have dessert at a café afterward, lol.

If you're looking for a great pork cutlet restaurant in Yongsan and enjoy familiar Western-style Korean sauce, try the regular cutlet and udon set. If you're craving a spicy, refreshing combination, go for the spicy pork cutlet and buckwheat noodle set! Everything was clean and tasty, so I highly recommend it, haha.
