Today I visited Deo Bareun Jeongyuk Sikdang Gangnam Sinnonhyeon Station Main Branch, close to Sinnonhyeon Station! It specializes in 1++ hanwoo (Korean beef) and Jeju black pork, and the staff grilled the meat from start to finish so we could just chat and eat comfortably!

It's on the ground floor right along Gangnam-daero, so it was easy to find even on my first visit. Since it sits between Sinnonhyeon Station and Gangnam Station, it's convenient to move on to a café or bar afterward, and it fits nicely into a weekend Gangnam date course.

The interior was bigger than I expected, and the spacing between tables was generous. It's great for a party of two, and there are also rooms good for group dinners or family gatherings — if you have a bigger group, I'd recommend booking ahead.

For hanwoo, we had chadolbagi (skirt steak) and eopjinsal (brisket)! Both were delicious, but the chadolbagi was seriously the best!!!! You really have to try it. It melts in your mouth.

For pork, we chose the Jeju black pork geungogi, which lets you try several cuts at once!

It's a set of ogyeopsal (pork belly) and mokssal (pork neck) with either hangjeongsal (pork jowl) or gabrisal added, so it's a good choice when you can't decide which cut to order. They grill the thick-cut meat over charcoal until it's crisp outside and still juicy inside — cooked to just the right point.

The ogyeopsal in particular was chewy and savory, and the mokssal was thick but not dry, which was delicious. With a touch of salt and wasabi, then paired with pa-kimchi (scallion kimchi) or myeongi-namul (wild garlic leaves), we kept eating without ever feeling greasy!

## Tableside charcoal grilling and the naengmyeon finish

At Korean BBQ places, isn't it annoying when one person has to keep grilling and can't really join the conversation?

Here, staff grill everything tableside, so we didn't have to worry about timing at all and could focus on the meal. The smell and smoke weren't as strong as I expected, and the tables had plenty of room — a solid pick for a Gangnam date restaurant.

Make sure to get naengmyeon (cold noodles) after the meat! Both the mul-naengmyeon and bibim-naengmyeon were so good I'd almost call this a naengmyeon place. Pair it with the meat and you've got the perfect finish.
