Yeongdeungpo is seriously lacking in sashimi and seafood places.. So I went on an intense search for a truly good spot and found Loco Loco Steamed Clams, which has apparently held its ground in Yeongdeungpo for 13 years!!

They say they use fresh seafood delivered directly from the source every morning, so as a steamed-clam lover, I ran right over.

It is at 1 Yeongdeungpo-ro 42-gil, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, South Korea: a five-minute walk from Exit 5 of Yeongdeungpo Station and a nine-minute walk from Exit 3 of Yeongdeungpo Market Station.

It is open 16:00–01:00 Monday through Thursday, and 13:00–01:00 Friday through Sunday.

A pub with parking in parking-challenged Yeongdeungpo! You can park underground at Echelle I Cinema Shopping Mall; the first hour is free, then it is ₩1,500 per additional 30 minutes.

Loco Loco Steamed Clams Yeongdeungpo Direct Store! It has been operating for a whopping 13 years..! A restaurant with one hour of free parking is already a huge happiness.

I was surprised by how large it was as soon as I entered! There were lots of tables, and they were nicely spaced out, so it felt comfortable.

There are private group seats farther inside too, so it looked great for visiting with a bunch of people?

It would be such a good place for a Yeongdeungpo company dinner, group get-together, family gathering, or wedding-invitation gathering! Even though I came early on a weekday, some tables were already having company dinners.

Maybe because it is a steamed-clam place with 13 years behind it, the walls were packed with clam shells covered in doodles, hahaha. So fun.

Loco Loco Steamed Clams uses live, fresh seafood sent straight from the source! The place is really huge, right?

The restroom! So important, right? It is inside the restaurant, which was very convenient.

The menu at Loco Loco Steamed Clams in Yeongdeungpo! There was an original steamed-clam dish on its own, plus plenty of seafood choices such as sliced boiled octopus, seafood pancake, lobster steamed clams, white clam soup, octopus soup, assorted seafood, live octopus, sea cucumber, and sea squirt!

I ordered Loco Loco Steamed Clams for ₩53,000, the Shrimp-Loaded Chive Pancake for ₩9,000, and Chamisul Fresh~

The basic sides were salt for dipping the boiled chicken, pickled peppers, wasabi, seaweed (?), and carrots.

They give you finely chopped onion to add to cho-gochujang (sweet-and-tangy chili-vinegar sauce)! Shake up the cho-gochujang and onion, and soy sauce on the side is essential~!

## Steamed-clam broth and boiled chicken

The Loco Loco steamed clams finally arrived! They come in a rectangular steamer with the lid on! Steam was billowing out~ I wanted to open it already.

The grand reveal~! Clams filling the whole steamer! A staff member immediately cuts up the abalone, live octopus, crown daisy, and kabocha squash so they are easy to eat!

Ahh.. it is really fresh, right? I loved that there were so many kinds of clams and such a generous amount.

The clams were plump, and the broth had that clean, deep flavor drawn out from the seafood! It was not salty—light yet pleasantly spicy—and I loved it so, so muchㅠㅠ Not an artificial seasoning flavor, but that refreshing flavor pulled straight from the seafood!!

Look at how bouncy the octopus is.. It was not tough, and that springy texture was still alive—completely delicious~

Oh, and this is what makes Loco Loco Steamed Clams special! A whole boiled chicken comes with it too. If you only want clams, you can choose the clams-only option! But the chicken is so tender and tasty, so please do try it with the chicken,,,

The eating instructions are explained kindly too, so you can follow along! The combination of crown daisy and clams was so good, you know? The chicken is huge too.. Its pose is somehow a little embarrassing, but,, it is delicious, so who cares…

Cho-gochujang + onion + octopus is the truth..

The scallops were plump and tender, and maybe because they were fresh, a sweetness came through the more I chewed. So tasty!

The white clams were tender too, with no fishiness!

## Shrimp-loaded chive pancake and kalguksu

The shrimp-loaded chive pancake arrived too~~ It had a ton of dried shrimp in it!

The pancake was cooked so well that it was crispy all the way through, and with so much dried shrimp, it was wonderfully nutty and deliciousㅠㅠ I inhaled it, seriously..

After eating some of the clams, I asked a staff member to cut up the chicken! They came right over and prepared the chicken into easy-to-eat pieces too, haha.

The drumstick was so yummy too.. When I was starting to get a little tired of clams, putting chicken in my mouth was just perfect, hahaha. The chicken was incredibly tender!!

When you order Loco Loco Steamed Clams, kalguksu + bok choy arrive just as you are finishing the clams! When the broth is bubbling away like this, drop in the kalguksu! In they go, in they go.

There was an enormous amount of kalguksu too. This is for two people.. Hahaha, and the longer the broth boiled, the more and more delicious it got, so I kept ladling it up..

The owner has such good instincts,, They bring out kimchi that is a perfect match for kalguksu too! This is the real finishing touch.. Not that taste of Chinese-made kimchi, but truly delicious kimchi.

Please, please try it like this. I normally try not to eat many carbs, but that day was a complete fail~! The kalguksu went into my mouth like crazy.. Ahh.. ㅠㅠ It was so wonderfully chewy and delicious.. I want it again.

## Recommended for a Yeongdeungpo seafood gathering

Looking for a great seafood spot in Yeongdeungpo? I recommend Loco Loco Steamed Clams Yeongdeungpo Direct Store! The staff were so kind, the clams were generous, and they even include a whole chicken..! 

The broth was refreshing and pleasantly spicy, perfect as drinking foodㅠㅠ Parking is available, and orders over ₩100,000 get free corkage! The restaurant is spacious too, so it is great for a family meal or a Yeongdeungpo company dinner~~

I used to go only to Squid Village for seafood, but next time I am going to go conquer some seafood at Loco Loco Steamed Clams, haha.
