## In short

Jeonju House is a Korean restaurant on the main road in Bongmyeong-dong, Yuseong, Daejeon, near Gyeryong Spatel. An order of domestic aged kimchi galbi kimchi stew for two runs 15,000 won per person with pot rice included, and even with whole chili peppers in the pot it tasted not spicy at all to a spice-shy eater, followed by a 10,000 won king rolled omelet and rice-crust tea. With group seating, a kid's chair, phone chargers and a self-service corner, Jeonju House makes a filling, easy lunch.

Jeonju House, a Korean restaurant favorite in Bongmyeong-dong, is in a big building right on the main road near Gyeryong Spatel, so it's easy to find. There's no dedicated parking lot, but you can park in the alleys around the restaurant.

## Group seating, kid's chairs and how fast lunch turns over

The inside is just as spacious as the exterior. There's plenty of seating to accommodate group diners, which is the perk — even at lunchtime peak hours, turnover is really good! There's also a kid's chair on hand, so it's great for family meals too.

On top of that, there's a phone charger, disposable aprons, and a self-service corner for visiting customers. These little touches are the best~

Jeonju House, a Bongmyeong-dong Korean restaurant favorite, is known for fresh pork belly grilled on a cast-iron lid along with cauldron galbi kimchi stew. If you're after a lunch dish, go for the galbi kimchi stew; if you want a drinking snack, the kimchi hot pot is recommended! Both come in generous portions, so you can pick whichever suits your mood.

The complimentary water at Jeonju House, a Bongmyeong-dong favorite, was thoughtful too. Usually when you get a whole bottle of water, some is left over and you feel bad tossing it, but they give you cup water instead, which felt clean and tidy.

## Aged kimchi galbi kimchi stew for two, with pot rice

Neat basic side dishes showed up first. At Jeonju House, a Bongmyeong-dong Korean restaurant favorite, the owner makes the side dishes herself, and you could feel the care put into them.

We ordered the domestic aged kimchi galbi kimchi stew for two, plus a side of king egg roll! At Jeonju House, this Bongmyeong-dong Korean restaurant, the kimchi stew comes with pot rice included, so it's definitely great value.

Steam rose the moment the lid came off~ I prefer pot rice over regular rice bowls, and the reason is the rice crust (nurungji)! You scoop the rice out of the pot separately, then pour in rice-crust tea (sungnyung) ahead of time.

With whole pieces of aged kimchi in the pot, it looked filling just to see! The aged kimchi and Korean pork galbi are cut into bite-sized pieces for easy eating.

### Is the kimchi stew spicy for spice-shy eaters?

Thick Korean pork galbi combined with aged kimchi — it's basically a cheat code, can't go wrong. If you let it simmer too long the broth reduces, so turning off the heat partway through and eating was just right. I was worried it might be spicy since there were chili peppers in it, but by a spice-shy eater's standard, it wasn't spicy at all!

The thoroughly cooked, super-soft aged kimchi with the clean-tasting Korean pork galbi — it's the kind of flavor that makes you gasp the moment you taste it. The aged kimchi felt like such a cheat code, the savoriness was no joke.

## King rolled omelet for 10,000 won

Let's also take a look at the thick king rolled omelet~ It's completely oversized, almost too big to lift with chopsticks. They cutely drizzled ketchup on the side, but it was really delicious even plain.

Galbi kimchi stew plus rolled omelet side dish — a combo that could bring back even a lost appetite, right? I'd recommend this Bongmyeong-dong lunch favorite even to adults with a kid's palate!

## Finishing the pot rice with rice-crust tea

Having scraped the pot rice clean, it's time to try the rice crust. Adding it to the nicely softened rice crust along with some galbi and eating it together is the best...! I felt like I hadn't eaten that much, but the portion was so generous it left me really full.

The staff were super kind too, and I'd recommend this Bongmyeong-dong, Daejeon favorite for nailing flavor, portion, and value all at once! That's my Jeonju House review~
