I heard that Deodo Gejang — the legendary crab marinade shop from Yangsan that once caused a nationwide delivery frenzy — had finally landed in Haeundae Marine City, so I rushed over to check it out 🦀

It's right in the heart of Haeundae Marine City, near the beach road, so it's easy to find even on your first visit 🌊

Even though it's a fairly new spot, word had already spread wide enough that it was fully booked from early lunchtime 💥 Stepping inside, the cozy, upscale wood-toned interior gives it a calm, refined feel — that polished-yet-comfortable vibe you get at a proper Korean set-meal restaurant!

There are plenty of tables and everything is well partitioned, so it looked perfectly suited for staff dinners, family gatherings, or bringing along elderly relatives 👏

The tabletops themselves are made extra wide and spacious, so even when the table filled up with side dishes, it never felt cramped and I could eat comfortably 🤍

Off to one side of the restaurant, there were plenty of neatly arranged baby chairs, which made me think this would be a great spot for family outings with kids too 🍼

Deodo Gejang already built a huge following in Yangsan, popular enough to run nationwide delivery orders! It's run directly by a chef with 20 years of experience who came from a 5-star hotel, so my expectations were sky-high before I even took a bite ⭐

As the dishes were set on the table, my eyes went wide at the sheer number of hearty side dishes that kept coming out, one after another...! The table was practically groaning under the spread 🍽️

From ttukbaegi bulgogi (hot-pot beef) to salad, seaweed soup, savory pancakes, fried dishes, and stew... it was filled with hearty, home-cooked-style side dishes, and it was fun just picking through them all! 🍚

The grilled fish that came out with the set turned out to be a full three fish. The golden, crispy look was so good it practically leapt off the photo. Crisp outside, tender inside — the real deal 👍

Crispy on the outside, mild and moist inside — piled generously on top of freshly steamed rice, it was full of savory flavor 😋

### Soy-marinated yellow crab that isn't salty

Today's star — the soy-marinated yellow crab 🌊 Deodo Gejang says it uses only carefully selected yellow crab from Jeju's clean waters. Maybe that's why the freshness and firmness of the crab felt a cut above the rest...!

With no artificial seasoning at all, it's cured using only natural fruit, so it wasn't salty but was deeply steeped in umami! The crab meat yield was also great, packed tightly full 💯

Wearing the provided food gloves, I squeezed out the crab meat and mixed it right into the rice — that's when the phrase "rice thief" truly made sense 😋

The pot rice must be made with good quality rice, because it had a glossy sheen and stickiness — even chewing the rice plain gave off a subtle, rich sweetness 🍚
