On the way to Yeoju Premium Outlet, I stopped at Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yeoju IC Branch (설악막국수 춘천닭갈비 여주IC점). I had soy sauce dakgalbi, seasoned dakgalbi, and bibim makguksu together, and it was convenient because the staff grilled the meat for us.

## Do you have to grill the dakgalbi yourself?

The seasoned dakgalbi and soy sauce dakgalbi arrived partially cooked together. It saved time compared with starting from raw meat, and there was a subtle charcoal aroma.

The basic side dishes were musaengchae (seasoned shredded radish), dongchimi, lettuce wraps, young radish kimchi, and cabbage. To my taste, they were clean and not overly strong, making them good with the meat.

During my visit, a staff member grilled the dakgalbi for us. I could wait comfortably while the dakgalbi and rice-cake pieces browned.

## How did the soy sauce and seasoned dakgalbi taste?

The charcoal-grilled dakgalbi was crisp on the outside and tender inside. The meat also had a pleasantly chewy texture. The soy sauce dakgalbi was sweet and salty, without toughness or an unpleasant smell. I liked it best as it was, without adding more sauce.

I was worried the seasoned dakgalbi might be spicy, but when I tried it, the charcoal aroma stood out more. It was good on its own, and it also went well wrapped in lettuce with a little cabbage.

## Does bibim makguksu go well with dakgalbi?

I went expecting the meat, but I did not have high expectations for the makguksu. The noodles were springy and chewy, though, which left an impression.

The bibim makguksu sauce was not too strong for my taste and had a sweet-and-sour flavor. It was a good combination to alternate with the dakgalbi, and I was able to have a satisfying meal before going to Yeoju Premium Outlet.
