## In short

Teukbyeolhan Chobap is a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant on the 2nd floor of a building on Cheongmyeongnam-ro in Yeongtong, Suwon. Seated at the bar table, the writer picked egg sushi, cream salmon onion, taco wasabi, aged kimchi flounder, whelk and octopus steak sushi, eel, spicy yukhoe sushi and futomaki, plus two orders of shrimp tempura fried to look like snowflakes. The seafood was fresh across the board, making it a solid pick for sushi cravings in Yeongtong.

## Atmosphere and hygiene

![Clean, well-maintained interior of the sushi restaurant](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeongtong-sushi-takowasabi-snowflake-shrimp/yeongtong-sushi-takowasabi-snowflake-shrimp-03-6u2v7-900.webp)

Walking in, the interior was cleaner and more pleasant than I expected. What really stood out was that every chef was wearing a hygiene cap and mask. Sushi being what it is, hygiene is always on my mind, and seeing all the chefs fully covered gave me a lot of confidence.

We were seated at the bar table, which seemed great for eating sushi right away — good for solo diners or a couple. There were also 4-person tables inside, so it looked like a good fit for families too.

![Conveyor belt with sushi circling past the bar table](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeongtong-sushi-takowasabi-snowflake-shrimp/yeongtong-sushi-takowasabi-snowflake-shrimp-06-18h7o-900.webp)

One thing that really caught my eye: delicious-looking sushi plates kept circling around on the conveyor belt haha. The chefs kept making more sushi the whole time too haha.

![Various types of sushi plates on the conveyor belt](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeongtong-sushi-takowasabi-snowflake-shrimp/yeongtong-sushi-takowasabi-snowflake-shrimp-07-upb40-900.webp)

It was fun picking whatever sushi I wanted off the belt, and you could also order specific dishes directly from the menu.

## Sushi picked from the conveyor belt

![A plate of large egg sushi](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeongtong-sushi-takowasabi-snowflake-shrimp/yeongtong-sushi-takowasabi-snowflake-shrimp-09-1q9vy-900.webp)

![Close-up of egg sushi](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeongtong-sushi-takowasabi-snowflake-shrimp/yeongtong-sushi-takowasabi-snowflake-shrimp-10-op8yg-900.webp)

The first sushi we picked was egg sushi. The egg piece was bigger than I expected, so it looked really appetizing. One bite in, the egg itself was soft and tasted great — a perfect way to start. I feel like I always end up starting with egg sushi at a sushi place haha.

![Cream salmon onion sushi](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeongtong-sushi-takowasabi-snowflake-shrimp/yeongtong-sushi-takowasabi-snowflake-shrimp-11-9xfl5-900.webp)

Next up was the cream salmon onion sushi. Cream and onion were piled on top of the salmon, and above all, the salmon itself felt really fresh. I liked the salmon's signature soft texture, and it paired well with the cream and onion.

### The most memorable one: taco wasabi sushi

And the sushi I personally enjoyed most was the taco wasabi! There was a generous amount of octopus (taco) piled on, so the texture with each bite was really satisfying. The chewy, springy texture of the octopus combined with the sharp kick of wasabi kept me reaching for more. Out of everything I ate that day, this was the one that stuck with me the most haha.

Next was the aged kimchi flounder sushi. The clean flavor of the flounder combined with aged kimchi (mukeunji) gave it a tangy, savory kick, making for a nice change of pace.

I also tried the seasoned shrimp sushi. The seasoning on the shrimp was fairly strong, so it wasn't bland at all — the flavor really came through, and I enjoyed it.

### Whelk and octopus steak sushi

This time I also tried some different types of sushi. First, the whelk steak sushi! The whelk had a springy, chewy texture that really came through, giving it a satisfying chew — a different kind of appeal from the softer sushi pieces.

![Octopus steak sushi](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeongtong-sushi-takowasabi-snowflake-shrimp/yeongtong-sushi-takowasabi-snowflake-shrimp-18-1rhlv-900.webp)

I also tried the octopus steak sushi and the shrimp-and-egg steak sushi — both were delicious too.

![Table with several plates of sushi](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeongtong-sushi-takowasabi-snowflake-shrimp/yeongtong-sushi-takowasabi-snowflake-shrimp-20-18t3g-900.webp)

## How fresh was the seafood?

After trying so many different types, there was one thing they all had in common — the seafood felt fresh across the board. The flounder was fresh too, and with every single piece, I got the sense the ingredients were in good condition. So if you're looking for a good sushi restaurant in Yeongtong, I think this is something you'd find satisfying too.

![A plate of eel sushi](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeongtong-sushi-takowasabi-snowflake-shrimp/yeongtong-sushi-takowasabi-snowflake-shrimp-21-u3hda-900.webp)

I also tried the eel sushi. Eel can sometimes be a bit nerve-wracking to eat because of the bones, but this eel sushi had no bones to worry about — smooth eating all the way through. More importantly, there was no fishy smell at all, and the flavor was great. If you like eel, this one should be a safe bet.

![Spicy yukhoe sushi](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeongtong-sushi-takowasabi-snowflake-shrimp/yeongtong-sushi-takowasabi-snowflake-shrimp-22-17iiu-900.webp)

Next was the spicy yukhoe (raw beef tartare) sushi. It's sushi topped with yukhoe, meant to be eaten with a spicy sauce. The beef itself was reasonably fresh, so the texture was good, and thanks to the spicy sauce, alternating with the other sushi kept things from getting repetitive.

![Futomaki packed with ingredients](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeongtong-sushi-takowasabi-snowflake-shrimp/yeongtong-sushi-takowasabi-snowflake-shrimp-23-tnhav-900.webp)

## Futomaki packed with ingredients and snowflake shrimp tempura

And the last dish I tried, which was really satisfying, was the futomaki (thick seaweed roll). It was big from the start, and looking inside, I could tell the ingredients hadn't been skimped on at all. Salmon, fried shrimp, egg — all sorts of ingredients were packed in tight. Each bite brought together a mix of textures and flavors that felt rich and satisfying.

And there was one more dish here that really impressed me — the shrimp tempura. Instead of the usual shape, it was fried crispy to look like a snowflake, which made it fun to look at too. Eating it fresh and hot, the batter was super crispy and paired well with the shrimp. It was so good that I ended up ordering two servings haha. If you like crispy fried food, I'd recommend ordering this along with everything else.

## How was it as a Yeongtong sushi spot?

Overall, out of all the sushi I've had in Yeongtong, Suwon, this place stood out as both good value and delicious. I especially liked being able to pick from so many different types of sushi, and beyond just what was on the belt, you could also order specific dishes from the menu to suit your taste. If you've been looking for a Yeongtong restaurant and craving sushi, I think this is a place worth visiting at least once.

- Overall a satisfying sushi restaurant with fresh seafood
- Futomaki packed with ingredients from salmon to fried shrimp to egg
- Snowflake-fried shrimp tempura was also a standout treat
- A clean restaurant with a hygienic cooking environment — a satisfying Yeongtong find
