## In short

Eongteori Muhandae Pae Gongneung Branch is an all-you-can-eat thin-sliced pork belly restaurant on the second floor near Gongneung Station Exit 1 in Nowon, Seoul. Two adults and a 6-year-old grilled a mix of the 8 meats from the freezer case, dipped them in cumin powder from the self-serve bar, and added the puffed steamed egg (gyeran-jjim), Hangang ramyeon and fried rice, all for 17,900 won a person. The kid happily ate the thin, crisply grilled pork belly, so Eongteori works well for a family meal out.

I'd been craving good meat for a while, so I finally went to Eongteori Muhandae Pae Gongneung Branch, famous as a Gongneung meat restaurant. Even when thin-sliced pork belly (daepae samgyeopsal) or frozen samgyeopsal was super trendy, I never felt drawn to it, so this was my first visit ever. After eating here, I honestly wondered why I'd been sleeping on this.

## Where is Eongteori Muhandae Pae Gongneung Branch, and where do you park?

Eongteori Muhandae Pae Gongneung Branch is at 83 Dongil-ro 192-gil, Nowon-gu, Seoul, close to Gongneung Station Exit 1, on the 2nd floor. It's open daily from 12:00 to 3:00 the next morning, and while parking is available, it's very tight.

There is a building parking lot, but we were told it's very cramped, so we just walked over. If you're driving, staff said to use a nearby shared parking lot, or you can park on the street in front of the restaurant during lunch hours (12:00–14:00).

## What the restaurant feels like inside, and is there a wait?

We'd reserved ahead so we were seated at a reserved table right away. Soon after, a group of what looked like Seoul Tech students started pouring in. Even though the place is pretty spacious, it filled up fast haha. By the time we finished eating and left, there was even a wait for regular customers — I realized 'oh, this was a hidden Gongneung gem I just didn't know about.'

## What does the 17,900-won all-you-can-eat include?

For ₩17,900, Eongteori Muhandae Pae Gongneung Branch serves unlimited thin pork belly, chewy pork belly, cold pork belly, flower pork belly, flower pork neck, a vegetable self-bar, Hangang ramyeon, and fried rice or a bowl of rice. And at lunch, all of that is only ₩14,900! I've never been to a place like this — I assumed the ramyeon and fried rice would obviously be extra orders. Being able to cover meat, rice, ramyeon, and fried rice all in one go makes this an incredibly good-value BBQ spot. And unlimited soju for ₩5,900!! If you're a big drinker, adding that on will really get you your money's worth haha.

## Eating with a 6-year-old, plus a puffed steamed egg on the side

We came as two adults and one toddler, and the only extra order we made was steamed egg (gyeranjjim) for the kid. Each seat comes with a serving tray, which you take to the self-serve bar to fill with whatever you want.

## The self-serve bar: 8 cuts of meat and wrap vegetables

The freezer case had a whopping 8 different kinds of meat. Since it was our first visit and we didn't know what was good, we just grabbed a bit of everything.

![Plate with a bit of every kind of thin pork belly](https://img.superchart.com/images/gongneung-unlimited-pork-belly-with-kid/gongneung-unlimited-pork-belly-with-kid-12-1szsf-900.webp)

The vegetable self-bar had all kinds of wrap vegetables that go well with meat, plus grillable ingredients like mushrooms, bracken fern, garlic, and potatoes. The wrap vegetable selection especially was way more varied than I expected — it almost felt like a ssambap (wrap-rice) restaurant.

There were plenty of spare bowls and various sauces too, and there were even suggested combos written up around the bar, so first-timers like us had no trouble figuring things out.

## Grilling the thin pork belly and dipping it in cumin

On a well-heated grill, the thin pork belly cooked really fast, true to its style. My husband and I, both first-timers with daepae samgyeopsal and cold pork belly, had a bit of trouble timing our bites at first since the meat cooked so quickly. But we got the hang of it fast and started mixing and matching combos.

Meanwhile, the group of students next to us clearly looked like regulars — their grilling skills were on another level. Watching them stack meat and toppings onto the grill so smoothly, they looked like total veterans... we sneakily watched and tried to copy them.😉

What really stood out was that the self-bar had cumin powder! Dipping the thin pork belly in cumin suddenly gave it a lamb skewer (yangkkochi) vibe — different and delicious.

Having to walk back and forth to the self-bar whenever we needed something was a little bit of a hassle. But not having to flag down staff every time, and being able to grab whatever food or sauce we wanted without feeling awkward about it, was actually convenient. Since the meat is thin, it naturally gets cooked crispy — even our 6-year-old, trying daepae samgyeopsal for the first time, said it was crunchy and ate way more meat than usual.

## Hangang ramyeon and fried rice, also unlimited

With the extra steamed egg on top, our kid had a solid meal alongside the meat too. Normally I'd agonize over noodles versus fried rice for dessert after meat, but here — since it's all unlimited — no need to choose!

![Hangang ramyeon prepped before boiling](https://img.superchart.com/images/gongneung-unlimited-pork-belly-with-kid/gongneung-unlimited-pork-belly-with-kid-21-1jvgs-900.webp)

First up, we boiled the Hangang ramyeon, which you just can't skip when eating meat.

Do I even need to explain? Meat plus ramyeon... just writing about it is making me hungry again haha.

![A finished pot of Hangang ramyeon](https://img.superchart.com/images/gongneung-unlimited-pork-belly-with-kid/gongneung-unlimited-pork-belly-with-kid-22-1amzm-900.webp)

And then, my beloved Korean-style dessert: fried rice after meat! There were detailed instructions for making it, so I followed along step by step. Chopping up the leftover meat and frying it in was just as delicious as I hoped. Even after the ramyeon, we polished off the fried rice too.

The only downside of all-you-can-eat places is that you end up way more stuffed than usual... but hey, you overeat because it's delicious, right? haha. That day we properly demolished meat, steamed egg, Hangang ramyeon, and fried rice, then walked home to digest it all.

## Is Eongteori worth it for a meat dinner in Gongneung?

This was my first time really properly trying daepae samgyeopsal and cold pork belly, and it turned out way tastier than I expected, so it left a great impression. What I liked most was being able to choose as much as I wanted from several kinds of meat, plus unlimited wrap vegetables, Hangang ramyeon, and fried rice. If you're looking for a Gongneung meat restaurant to fill up at without worrying about the bill, or a spot to visit with a group, this seems like a solid choice. Visiting with a kid like we did also worked out well thanks to the steamed egg and crispy-grilled pork belly. Next time I'll come armed with better grilling skills from the start so I can eat even more strategically haha. That's my review of Eongteori Muhandae Pae Gongneung Branch, where I discovered the joys of daepae samgyeopsal and cold pork belly a little too late.
