## In short

Childish is a bakery café on the second floor of Yeonmujang-gil in Seongsu, Seoul, where the signatures are rice flour salted bread and Taiwanese-style shaved mango bingsu. Visiting with a baby, we ordered the Taiwanese mango bingsu at 22,900 won, salted bread at 2,500 won, a milky cream latte, a decaf latte and milk for the baby. Because Childish uses 100% milk instead of condensed milk in the bingsu and rice flour in its chewy salted bread, it was an easy café to eat at with a small child.

While looking for a café in Seongsu that I could take my baby to, I found Childish. This is a place that makes all its bakery items in-house, with rice flour salted bread and Taiwanese-style shaved mango bingsu (shaved ice dessert) as its signature menu.

Here's what we ordered that day.

## Looking for a Seongsu café you can visit with a child?

One reason I liked Childish was that it's not just a café selling pretty-looking desserts — it's a bakery café that actually cares about ingredients.

![Bakery display case at Childish](https://img.superchart.com/images/childish-seongsu-mango-bingsu-rice-salt-bread/childish-seongsu-mango-bingsu-rice-salt-bread-06-1qr24-900.webp)

![In-house made bakery items at Childish](https://img.superchart.com/images/childish-seongsu-mango-bingsu-rice-salt-bread/childish-seongsu-mango-bingsu-rice-salt-bread-07-13bio-900.webp)

All the bakery items are made in-house, and the salted bread items use rice flour and 100% butterfat unsalted butter, made low gluten. The bingsu is also made with 100% milk instead of condensed milk.

So this seems like a solid option for anyone looking for a dessert or bakery to enjoy with their kid in Seongsu. Plus, these days a lot of Seongsu dessert spots can get pretty pricey, but the salted bread here was only ₩2,500, so it didn't feel like a burden at all.

## Milky cream latte, decaf latte and milk for the baby

For drinks, we ordered a milky cream latte and a decaf latte. Pairing sweet, soft desserts with coffee made for a nice combo. Especially when you order the mango bingsu together with the salted bread, you get to go back and forth between something sweet and something salty-savory, which made the menu combo really satisfying.

They gave the baby milk separately, which we ordered — and honestly, when you're out at a café with a baby, it kind of matters a lot that there's a drink or bakery item the baby can actually have.

## Childish's rice flour salted bread, 2,500 won

Another must-try item at Childish is the salted bread. It's ₩2,500 each. All of Childish's salted bread items are made with rice flour and 100% butterfat unsalted butter, and made low gluten. Trying it myself, I could tell it had a chewier texture than typical salted bread — I liked that. You can really taste the savory richness of the butter too.

I tend to look closely at ingredients when picking bakery items as a snack for a young child, so the fact that everything's made in-house without additives made me like it even more.

Childish also has a salted taiyaki (fish-shaped pastry). It's a signature item made with rice flour and 100% butterfat butter, and it was genuinely delicious when I tried it. They say if you don't eat leftover bread right away, freezing it and then reheating it in an air fryer makes it even better.

## Taiwanese-style shaved mango bingsu in Seongsu, 22,900 won

Honestly, the menu item I was most looking forward to that day was the Taiwanese mango bingsu! It's ₩22,900, and Childish confidently describes it as their 'Taiwanese-style shaved mango bingsu that's said to taste better than the real thing in Taiwan.'

![Taiwanese-style shaved mango bingsu at Childish](https://img.superchart.com/images/childish-seongsu-mango-bingsu-rice-salt-bread/childish-seongsu-mango-bingsu-rice-salt-bread-16-dvg7b-900.webp)

![Thinly shaved, ribboned mango bingsu](https://img.superchart.com/images/childish-seongsu-mango-bingsu-rice-salt-bread/childish-seongsu-mango-bingsu-rice-salt-bread-17-8dejc-900.webp)

Unlike typical milk bingsu, it's shaved into thin, layered ribbons, so it really looks like proper Taiwanese-style mango bingsu from the moment it arrives. What I especially liked was that they don't use condensed milk — it's made with 100% milk. So it's not just sweet; you get to enjoy the soft milk flavor alongside the mango's sweetness, which made it feel like less of a burden to share with the baby too.

## Who Childish suits best
