## In short

Myeonsikdang Suji Government Office branch is a ramen and pho restaurant in the hagwon (private academy) district beside Sujigucheong Station in Yongin, Gyeonggi. On a weekday lunch, a couple ordered spicy pho, a tonkotsu ramen with fire-flavor mini butadon set, karaage (5 pieces) and potato croquettes (4 pieces), and found tablet ordering, a self-serve bar, outlets at the seats and baby chairs. Myeonsikdang Suji Government Office branch suits a solo bowl of noodles just as well as a family meal.

I brought back a story from a visit to Myeonsikdang, which has become known lately as a Sujigucheong-area restaurant. My husband and I went together on a weekday during lunchtime. Since it's right in the middle of a hagwon (private academy) district, there were really a lot of customers even on a weekday afternoon. It made me think — yeah, there's a reason it's called a Sujigucheong restaurant.

## Where is Myeonsikdang Suji Government Office branch? Hours and parking

Myeonsikdang Suji Government Office branch is located at 1F 101, 51-9 Suji-ro 296beon-gil, Suji-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, and is open daily from 10:30 to 21:00. Last order is at 20:30, and there may be a break time if ingredients run out.

It's also close to Sujigucheong Station, so it was easy to reach by public transit.

### Where to park near Sujigucheong Station

There's no dedicated parking lot for the restaurant, so it's more convenient to use the nearby Women's Center public parking lot. I used the public lot near the restaurant myself. I heard it's free on weekends, so that's worth keeping in mind if you visit.

## Inside Myeonsikdang Suji: tablet ordering, outlets, self-serve bar

At Myeonsikdang Suji Government Office branch, every table had a tablet, which made ordering simple, and there were outlets scattered around the seating too. As soon as I stepped inside, I could order easily.

*Charger*

There were outlets to charge devices all over the place. I was touched by that small consideration.

Up front there was also a self-serve bar, so I could help myself to whatever I needed to go with the pho — sriracha, cilantro powder, broth, and even kimchi.

The restaurant was kept clean and tidy overall, which gave me confidence in the place. There were chargers placed around the seating and plenty of baby chairs too, so it seemed like a comfortable spot for families dining with kids.

## Spicy pho and the tonkotsu ramen with fire-flavor mini butadon set

What we ordered at Myeonsikdang Suji Government Office branch was spicy pho, tonkotsu ramen + fire-flavor mini butadon, karaage (5 pieces), and potato croquettes (4 pieces).

The spicy pho didn't disappoint, as expected. The broth had both a spicy kick and a deep, rich flavor, so I polished off the whole bowl without noticing. The portion was really generous too, so it was a filling meal.

My husband ordered the fire-flavor mini butadon, and the smoky char hit hard from the very first bite — it even surprised me. The sweet-and-salty sauce went so well with the rice that his spoon kept going back for more. If you're ordering ramen or soba, I'd recommend getting this as a set!

### Sides at Myeonsikdang Suji: karaage and potato croquettes

The karaage and potato croquettes we ordered as sides weren't to be missed either — crispy on the outside and juicy inside, perfect either as a drinking snack or as a kid's treat. The prices weren't too steep either, so it was easy to add a few extra things to the order. Even on the weekday lunch we visited, seats filled up fast, which made me think again — a Sujigucheong restaurant really is different.

## Verdict: good for a solo bowl or a family lunch in Yongin

Myeonsikdang Suji Government Office branch had a wide-ranging menu — ramen, soba, pho, plus tonkatsu and rice bowls — so it was easy to pick according to your taste. The prices were reasonable too, making it a good fit for solo dining, family meals, and dining with kids alike.

When you're hungry after finishing hagwon classes, or want a solid meal near Sujigucheong Station, why not give Myeonsikdang a try? Next time my family visits, I'll definitely have to check out the tonkatsu too.
