## In short

Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong is a rich chicken broth ramen restaurant on Bulgwangcheon-gil in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul. This visit ordered three things at once — tori paitan, kara paitan and modeum tsukune (assorted chicken meatball skewers) — alternating between the mellow broth and the spicy one, with Korean-grown maetkimchi (seasoned kimchi) and free noodle, rice and broth refills. Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong is a good pick when you want to compare a mild ramen and a spicy one in one sitting.

As the weather's been getting a little cooler lately, I kept craving warm soup dishes. This time I wanted a rich chicken broth ramen, so I headed to Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong.

## The three dishes ordered at Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong

I usually love ramen, so ordering just one felt like a waste — this time I went for three: tori paitan, kara paitan, and modeum tsukune (assorted chicken meatball skewers). On top of that, the Korean-made maetkimchi and free refills of noodles, rice, and broth made for a satisfying meal 😊

## What is the restaurant like, and is it fine to eat alone?

Walking in, the space felt clean and comfortable overall. Rather than flashy decor, it's a space built for focusing on your ramen, so it didn't feel awkward to visit alone.

As the dishes came out one by one, the first thing that caught my eye was the milky broth. It looked like a deeply simmered chicken stock, and just seeing it made me curious about the flavor.

## 🍜 Tori paitan: smooth, nutty chicken broth

The first thing I tried was the tori paitan.

Taking a spoonful of the milky broth, I first noticed the savory, mellow flavor typical of chicken stock. I expected the rich broth to be heavy, but it was lighter than I thought, with a subtle, lingering savoriness that I liked.

Eating the noodles alongside, the broth naturally clung to them so every bite carried the stock's flavor too. The noodles and broth paired well together — I hadn't planned to drink much of the soup at first, but I ended up spooning up more and more 😋

If you like a rich chicken broth flavor, starting with the tori paitan seems like a good idea.

## 🌶️ How spicy is the kara paitan at Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong?

The second dish I tried was the kara paitan. It shares that same rich chicken broth base as the tori paitan, but with a spicy kick added, giving it a distinctly different impression.

At first you get the spicy heat, and as you keep eating, the savory chicken broth flavor follows. It's not just a straightforwardly spicy broth — the depth of the stock comes through too, and it paired well with the noodles 🔥

I personally enjoy spicy food, so I liked the kara paitan a lot too. If tori paitan is soft and savory, kara paitan is a bit more intense and fiery — alternating between the two made each one's character stand out even more.

If you're looking for Eunpyeong ramen and torn between a mild bowl and a spicy one, it might come down to personal taste.

## 🍢 Modeum tsukune: the side to share with your ramen

Ramen alone felt like it wasn't enough, so I also tried the modeum tsukune I'd ordered alongside. Tsukune is a Japanese-style minced chicken meatball, and its soft, juicy texture paired nicely with the ramen.

After going back and forth between the rich broth and noodles, popping in a tsukune here and there gave me a different flavor to enjoy mid-meal. If you're looking for a side to order with ramen, modeum tsukune seems like a solid choice 😊

## 🍚 Korean maetkimchi and free noodle, rice and broth refills

What I personally liked most about Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong was the refill service. The Korean-made maetkimchi comes as a basic side dish, and having some alongside the rich ramen gave my palate a clean reset 🍚

What stood out most was being able to freely refill noodles, rice, and broth. Sometimes the noodles run a little short or there's broth left over — here you can add as much as you want, so there's no pressure about portion size.

If you want more noodles, add noodles; if you want rice with the broth, add rice — a setup that big eaters will especially appreciate.

For someone like me who enjoys drinking the broth quite a bit while eating ramen, the broth refill was quietly useful too. Being able to top up as much as I wanted meant I could keep enjoying it warm right to the end.

## ✨ Verdict after trying all three at Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong

This time I ordered tori paitan, kara paitan, and modeum tsukune together, and each had a slightly different character, which made eating them together fun.

- Tori paitan — centered on a soft, savory chicken broth flavor
- Kara paitan — the same base with spicy heat added, for a fiery kick
- Modeum tsukune — juicy, soft texture, good to pair between bites of ramen

With Korean-made maetkimchi and free noodle, rice, and broth refills on top, it made for a satisfying, filling meal 👍 Next time I visit, I'd like to try the other ramen menus I didn't get to this time 🍜

If you're craving a hearty meal and looking for a good restaurant in Eunpyeong-gu with rich chicken broth ramen, Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong is worth a warm bowl 😊
