I finally got around to a haircut I'd been putting off for ages, at Eco Revy Hair Ewha Branch near Ewha Station — here's my honest review. This place used to be well known as 'Demon Hair Ewha Branch,' but it's recently changed its name to Eco Revy Hair Ewha Branch! And it's not just the name — they've upgraded into a shop specializing in recovery straightening, recovery perms, head spa, and hair loss care, so I went in with high expectations. 😊

Eco Revy Hair Ewha Branch is right by Exit 3 of Ewha Womans University Station (Line 2) — go past the JAJU store visible right at the exit, head into the alley, and it's on the 2nd floor on the right. As soon as I walked in, a spacious, bright room greeted me, and what I liked best was how well the flow between seats was separated, almost like individual treatment spaces! You know how at a salon you sometimes end up awkwardly making eye contact with other customers? Here I didn't have to worry about anyone else's gaze — it felt like they were completely focused on just me, and honestly, really comfortable.

There's also a shampoo room that doubles as a head spa space, and the chairs looked really comfortable. Eco Revy Hair says they only use safe, naturally derived products. As soon as I sat down, I had a thorough consultation with the designer. I wanted a natural yet full layered C-curl perm.

Right when the consultation started, they asked what I'd like to drink — I was craving coffee but didn't want the caffeine, so I asked if they had decaf. It could've been a hassle, but they kindly prepared a decaf iced americano along with some tasty snacks (grain rolls, Lotus biscuits, and more!). I was touched — service points already won!

After looking at the state of my hair, they told me honestly upfront that since I'd had way too much thinned out before, the C-curl might not come out quite as full and bouncy as I was hoping. I really appreciated that they were realistic about my hair's condition rather than just saying 'sure, no problem' to everything — it built a lot of trust. 😊

First, they did a light cut so the layered perm would flow as prettily as possible. Then, to minimize damage, they separated the relatively healthier top section from the more damaged lower section, carefully applying the solution to the lower part first. After the perm, they generously shared home-care tips on how to blow-dry and style so the curls hold up well, and also carefully explained how future trims should be done to keep the perm lasting longer.

After all that careful solution application, heat treatment, and neutralizing, the long-awaited layered C-curl perm was finished in about 3 hours! (Huge thanks to Manager Hyun-i for such a caring, detailed job... 👍)

- Left (Before): My hair had been over-thinned, so the ends flew around, felt dry and lifeless. The layers were uneven and gave off a pretty unkempt feel.
- Right (After): Even though my hair wasn't very thick, once it went through Manager Hyun-i's skilled hands, the ends filled out with a firm, bouncy C-curl! Thanks to curls that naturally tucked in and out, the overall shape gained volume and looked much healthier and more polished.

Maybe because they took such care using products full of natural ingredients, my hair actually felt more moisturized and softer than before, even after a perm. Turns out the 'recovery perm specialist' title wasn't for nothing!
