On a weekday lunch visit, gyukatsu at 19,500 won and Japanese-style omurice at 14,500 won were ordered through the table NFC tag, then grilled two or three slices at a time for 20 to 30 seconds on a mini charcoal stove and eaten with salt and wasabi. Once you're on B1, turn left and keep walking to find Hurato Sikdang. If it's your first visit, you might wonder how to cook it yourself (I sure did), so having the instructions right there was really handy 👍 There's also a receipt event running, so if you're visiting, be sure to check that out too! ## Gyukatsu at 19,500 won: how to grill it on the mini charcoal stove The gyukatsu at Hurato Sikdang Gyeongbokgung Main Branch comes out nearly rare, and you grill it yourself on the mini stove at your table. I put on 2–3 slices at a time and grilled them for about 20–30 seconds — it was incredibly tender! There were also mini tongs provided, which made flipping and moving the meat easy 🤭 I put 2–3 slices on at a time and grilled for about 20–30 seconds — so tender! Salt, chili sauce, and soy sauce were all set out alongside the gyukatsu, so you could mix and match to taste. Add a spoonful of rice and it all went down so easily. Snacking on the crunchy, slightly sweet kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) and jjangajji (pickled radish) in between kept it from getting repetitive all the way to the last bite 🤤 ## What does the Japanese-style omurice at 14,500 won taste like? Hurato's Japanese-style omurice (₩14,500) is fluffy egg with sauce poured over it. Just pour the sauce over it ✨ The sauce felt somewhat like hashed rice sauce to me! There were solo diners too, and since it's fairly accessible if you have plans near Gwanghwamun or Gyeongbokgung, it seemed like a good lunch stop.
