Two diners ordered mini tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) for ₩13,000, jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) for ₩8,000 and jinsagol seafood jjampong (bone-broth spicy seafood noodle soup) for ₩11,000 — one noodle bowl each plus the mini tangsuyuk was just the right amount. It's close to Omokgyo Station, so it was easy to find, and the location seemed good for a casual Chinese meal at lunch or dinner. We ordered mini tangsuyuk, jjajangmyeon, and jinsagol seafood jjampong. With the two of us each picking a noodle dish and adding the tangsuyuk on top, the portion was just right — overall a solid, easy-to-enjoy combination. It's really close to the station, so it was convenient to visit by public transit. If you're coming by car, they say you can park on either side of the restaurant, but when I actually went, the space itself wasn't very generous — quite tight, actually. Being a mini size, it wasn't too much on top of a noodle dish, and it was just the right amount for two people to share. The batter wasn't too thick and had a nice crisp bite, and the meat inside wasn't dry either. The sauce had that classic sweet-and-sour tangsuyuk flavor, easy for anyone to enjoy. Picking up a piece in between bites of jjajangmyeon or jjampong definitely made the meal feel more filling and generous. Personally I liked that the sweetness wasn't too strong, with a good balance of the savory, salty flavor of chunjang (black bean paste). There's a lot of jjajangmyeon these days that leans very sweet, but this one had a more familiar, comfortable flavor. The noodles blended well with the sauce rather than feeling separate, and pairing a bite with the tangsuyuk worked nicely too. At first you get that distinctive savory, deep flavor of the bone broth, and as you keep eating, the refreshing seafood taste and spiciness follow. Rather than being a jjampong that's all heat and intensity, it's more about the rich broth flavor at its center, which personally made it easy to enjoy without feeling overwhelming. If the jjajangmyeon is on the softer, more comforting side, the jjampong had a more distinct broth flavor, so going back and forth between the two worked well, and adding the tangsuyuk rounded out the combination nicely. ## Is Yugwanjang Banjeom worth a visit? Final verdict Yugwanjang Banjeom Omokgyo Branch was easy to get to from Omokgyo Station, and it seemed like a good, low-pressure spot to stop by whenever you're craving jjajangmyeon or jjampong. There's also a separate room space inside, so it looked like it could comfortably handle a group meal too. If you're visiting as a pair like we did, one noodle dish each plus a mini tangsuyuk was a portion that wasn't excessive — just right. That said, parking isn't very generous, so if you're planning to drive, keep in mind that the parking is a bit tight!
