On a weekend trip to Gijang, I stopped by The Barbecue 051, a BBQ restaurant in the Osiria area, for lunch. With palm trees outside and a camping-vibe interior, this place made me feel like I'd traveled somewhere far away — here's the review go~*^^*

The tables are spacious, so it doesn't feel cluttered even once the food arrives — good good ^^. Rough stone flooring, wooden tables, and fully open windows let you take in the outside scenery without any filter, giving The Barbecue 051's interior a strong camping feel.

These days the mornings and evenings are cool and the midday weather is warm without humidity, so it's really nice for being out and about. Looking out at the view with the palm trees, I felt like I was somewhere in Southeast Asia. ^^

## The Barbecue 051 menu: what comes in the 2- and 3-person sets

The main menu items are the 2-person/3-person sets that include meat and skewers! Besides the meat, there are various side dishes too — doenjang jjigae, kimchi jjigae, naengmyeon, perilla oil buckwheat noodles, Gijang seaweed ramen — so there's plenty of fun in picking what to eat. ^^ Since I visited during the day I didn't drink, but I was so happy to see my favorite Byeolbit Cheonghayu on the menu (not many places carry it, haha).

The basic table setting at The Barbecue 051, a Gijang Osiria favorite. The tables are spacious, so even a spread this generous feels comfortable, not cramped ~*^^* Serving tofu kimchi alongside was such a nice, tasty touch. The seasonal vegetable salad was so crunchy too, and the savory dressing — perilla oil? sesame oil? — was totally my taste. ^^

When eating out at a BBQ place with kids, the answer is either a place that grills for you or a pre-grilled place. ^_^ The high heat means the juices don't escape, and the meat finishes grilling in no time~!

Honestly, when the meat's this good, it's best just dipped lightly in sauce, no wrap needed. Haha. I tried it plain with nothing on it, then with my favorite salt + curry powder combo, then topped with those pickled vegetables that had an amazing savory flavor — with such an abundant spread of ssam vegetables and side dishes, dozens of combinations are possible at The Barbecue 051, a Gijang Osiria favorite.

Another charm of The Barbecue 051, a Gijang Osiria favorite, is these handmade skewers!! Made one by one with care, adding to the camping vibe — even vegetables the kids usually don't touch, they eat happily once they're grilled on a skewer. They finished these faster than the meat. ^_^ There's a wide variety of skewers, and especially with the peanut sauce + breadcrumb combo that came with them, I honestly felt like I could eat about 100 skewers — that addictive. Haha.

Since it's a BBQ restaurant that's dog-friendly, it's also great to stop by for a walk nearby, and the staff were so, so kind that it made for a pleasant meal out — this place, The Barbecue 051, a Gijang Osiria favorite! The weather's been especially nice lately, and even though it's not outdoors, it was perfect for eating with that camping-vibe feel. ^^
