I was in Pyeongchon and wanted some good bread, so I stopped by Milbat Bakery Pyeongchon haha. I love bread in general and can never walk past a new bakery without checking it out. This time I was genuinely surprised — the place was bigger than I expected, and more than anything, the sheer number of bread types blew me away!

Milbat Bakery Pyeongchon is a Pyeongchon bakery stocked with everything from savory meal breads to sweet breads and snack-style breads. Honestly, before visiting I figured it was just an ordinary neighborhood bakery, but once I stepped inside, the range of options was way bigger than I imagined. I ended up browsing shelf by shelf thinking "ooh, that looks good too" and "should I try that one as well?" — I spent way more time looking at bread than I meant to lol.

I originally planned to grab just a few simple items, but this Pyeongchon bakery had such a wide variety that picking became half the fun haha. What I personally loved was that all the bread is made right there in the store. Being able to see it being made and knowing everything sold was baked on-site somehow made me trust it more.

## Tasting samples before buying at Milbat Bakery Pyeongchon

Another great thing about Milbat Bakery Pyeongchon is that you can taste the bread before buying! Seeing beautifully arranged bread at a bakery is nice, but knowing it's freshly homemade somehow makes it even more exciting haha.

It's always a little disappointing when you pick bread based on its name and it doesn't taste the way you expected. But being able to actually taste before choosing made deciding so much easier. Of course, the trap is that once you start tasting, you end up adding breads you never planned to buy onto your tray lol. Among everything I picked this time, my number one was the chocolate pound cake!

## Top pick: the chocolate pound cake

Of all the breads I picked at Milbat Bakery Pyeongchon, the chocolate pound cake turned out to be the most memorable haha. (Honestly, I'm not usually a pound cake person... but this particular chocolate pound cake really caught my eye~ so I picked it up half-expecting my husband would eat it if I didn't like it lol... and sure enough, my instincts were right! It had that dense, fudgy feel I actually love — not light at all, with a rich, deep chocolate flavor.) The chocolate taste was intense and it paired really well with coffee.

I especially love bread and desserts with chocolate in them, so maybe that's why it tasted even better to me. If I come back, I'd like to try other breads too, but I have a feeling I'll still end up grabbing the chocolate pound cake lol.

## Prices at Milbat Bakery Pyeongchon and who it suits

Overall, the prices at Milbat Bakery Pyeongchon felt pretty reasonable considering today's bakery prices. So rather than buying just one item, it seemed like a great spot to pick up a mix of things to take home and share with family. It's not a flashy, aesthetic large-scale café-style bakery, but if you're looking for a Pyeongchon bakery where you can comfortably browse and choose from a wide variety of bread, this seems like a solid choice.

There's enough variety that people who love sweet bread and people who prefer plain, savory meal bread can both find something to their taste, so it's a good place to visit with family too haha. For me, Milbat Bakery Pyeongchon isn't the kind of place you go to for one particular special bread — it felt more like a Pyeongchon bakery where you discover something new every visit and enjoy picking a bit of everything.

I was surprised by how many types of bread there were, and then found myself agonizing over what to pick while tasting lol. Knowing it's all made in-house gave me even more confidence in it. If you're looking for a bakery in Pyeongchon or a Pyeongchon bread shop, it's worth stopping by to browse at least once. I plan to try new breads on my next visit, but I have a feeling I'll cross paths with that chocolate pound cake again haha.
