Lately, whenever I feel like having a light drink in the evening, I find myself looking for somewhere comfortable rather than somewhere overly loud and packed—somewhere I can sit, have a few tasty snacks, and chat.

This time, while looking for a bar with a nice atmosphere near Sangbong Station, I visited Kkamuri (까무리), a Sangbong Station bar. It is tucked away in Sangbong-dong’s dining alley, with just the right mix of a pocha (casual Korean drinking tent) and izakaya feel, so it seemed great for an easy drink with a friend or a quick stop after work.

Kkamuri specializes in traditional handmade skewers and fish cake soup, so if you love skewers, it is a Sangbong Station spot worth trying at least once.

## The atmosphere at Kkamuri near Sangbong Station

It is conveniently located for getting there from Sangbong Station. It would be a good place to visit if you have dinner plans nearby or are looking for a second-round spot in Sangbong-dong’s dining alley.

As soon as you walk in, you get that comfortable, friendly pocha atmosphere, and the delicious smells make you want to look over the menu and order this and that.

Clean, polished izakayas are nice these days too, but I also love a place like this where you can sit back and have a drink more comfortably.

### The Mont Blanc sweet potato cake that came as the random side

🍰 A Mont Blanc sweet potato cake as the random side?! One thing I found a little fascinating was the random side in the Owner’s Home Run Set. That day, it was a Mont Blanc sweet potato cake! 🍠🍰 It was so unexpected to get a dessert-like sweet potato cake at a bar before digging into skewers and fish cake soup, haha.

## How was the fish cake soup broth?

Skewers alone can feel a little incomplete, so I loved that the Home Run Set also came with fish cake soup. When you are drinking, you really need something warm and brothy, haha.

The fish cake soup had a warm, clean-tasting broth, perfect for taking a spoonful between skewers. Especially on a chilly day, a steaming pot of fish cake soup, skewers, and a shot of soju sounds like the combination that would wash away all the fatigue from the day!

## The fun of 10 assorted skewers

The real star of the day was, of course, the 10 assorted skewers! There was a nice variety, so it was fun choosing them one by one. Trying each skewer and saying, “This one is good,” or “This is perfect with a drink,” made it even more fun, haha.

Overall, the seasoning was not too strong, so they were easy to enjoy with drinks.

Eating them right away while warm really brought out that signature charcoal aroma and the savory flavor of the chicken. The outside was lightly grilled while the inside stayed juicy. I had a skewer on its own, then dipped one in the mayonnaise-and-cumin sauce, and wow—the savory flavor was unreal.

## The spicy grilled makchang was a little disappointing

As we ate, I wanted something with a spicy kick, so I ordered it. Maybe because the fish cake soup and skewers were so good, it did not quite meet my expectationsㅠㅠ It tasted a bit like charcoal-grilled sausage, maybe...? It was not the spicy grilled makchang I had imagined, so that was disappointing.

## Thoughtful restroom details

Such thoughtful touches, in contrast to the bearded-owner image on Kkamuri’s sign! They had feminine hygiene products, hair ties, and mouthwash ready in the restroom.

Overall, Kkamuri was a bar that was easy to drop into and enjoy skewers alongside warm, brothy snacks. Rather than having just one menu item, I think the Owner’s Home Run Set I tried would suit anyone who wants to taste a little of several different bar snacks.
