## In short

Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch is a large Chinese restaurant on the second floor of a building on Teheran-ro 10-gil, between Gangnam Station and Yeoksam Station in Gangnam, Seoul. Arriving alone on a weekday at 11am, the writer ordered one bowl of jjamjjamyeon (half jjajangmyeon, half jjamppong) for 14,000 won, found plenty of two-person tables for eating solo without feeling watched, and had a disposable apron, pickled radish and water already waiting on the table. With free rice from the self-serve corner to mix into the leftover jjamppong sauce, Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch handles both a quick solo lunch and a team dinner near Yeoksam Station.

Today I want to recommend a Chinese restaurant near Yeoksam Station that's great for lunch! It's Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch (짬뽕지존 역삼점)!

## Where is Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch, and what are the hours?

Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch is on the 2nd floor of a building on Teheranro 10-gil, between Gangnam Station and Yeoksam Station. Hours are weekdays 10:00-22:00 and weekends 10:00-21:00. Both stations are within a 10-minute walk, so it's great for those getting around on foot!

If you search on Naver Maps you'll find it quickly. There's also space to park out front, but since it's Gangnam, walking there is probably more convenient anyway! Jjamppong Jijon is on the 2nd floor of the building~

Just head up the stairs on the right!

## Eating alone at 11am: plenty of two-person tables

I visited around 11am on a weekday lunch and there was plenty of seating! It's a pretty large-scale place, good for group dinners or eating out.

![Quiet, spacious dining hall on a weekday at 11am](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeoksam-jjambbongjijon-weekday-eleven-solo-jjamjjamyeon/yeoksam-jjambbongjijon-weekday-eleven-solo-jjamjjamyeon-04-1hqik-900.webp)

I really liked that there were lots of two-person tables where you could eat solo without feeling awkward, haha.

## What comes with a 14,000-won bowl of jjamjjamyeon

Honestly I was debating between jjajangmyeon and jjamppong, so I ordered a bowl of jjamjjamyeon instead. The upside is you get to enjoy two totally different flavors alternating in one bowl.

The self-serve corner had side plates, jjasai, kimchi, danmuji, onions, scissors, tongs, a rice cooker, and drinks (ade / yuja tea)! It was nice that the self-serve corner had such variety, haha.

I brought over kimchi, jjasai, and rice, haha (only take as much as you'll actually eat!)

## How do the jjajangmyeon and jjamppong taste?

The good thing about Chinese food is that it comes out fast. I'd been craving Chinese food since the day before, and I was happy the moment I saw the jjamjjamyeon~ Take a bite of the sweet, rich jjajangmyeon, then immediately follow it with a sip of the spicy, refreshing jjamppong broth — they neutralize each other's flavors and create an addictive combo you can't stop eating.

![Jjamjjamyeon served in one bowl](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeoksam-jjambbongjijon-weekday-eleven-solo-jjamjjamyeon/yeoksam-jjambbongjijon-weekday-eleven-solo-jjamjjamyeon-15-13god-900.webp)

The jjajangmyeon had a sweet, salty chunjang (black bean sauce) deeply soaked into the chewy noodles! Personally, I'd highly recommend pairing it with kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi)...♥

![Noodles coated in chunjang sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeoksam-jjambbongjijon-weekday-eleven-solo-jjamjjamyeon/yeoksam-jjambbongjijon-weekday-eleven-solo-jjamjjamyeon-17-1wrwk-900.webp)

Next up, the jjamppong! It was packed with seafood and vegetables, and the broth — infused with the ingredients — was clean yet spicy and hot, cutting right through any greasiness! The jjamppong is spicy, so it's good to eat it alongside the danmuji.

Make sure to grab rice from the self-serve corner and mix it into the leftover sauce!

Take a bite of the sweet, rich jjajangmyeon, then immediately follow it with a sip of the spicy, refreshing jjamppong broth — they neutralize each other's flavors and create an addictive combo you just can't stop eating!!! Jjamjjamyeon, what a magical pairing...♥
