## In short

Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yeoju IC Branch is a charcoal-grilled dakgalbi (spicy chicken) and makguksu (buckwheat noodle) restaurant near Yeoju IC and the Yeoju Premium Outlets in Gyeonggi. Two diners ordered 2 servings of charcoal dakgalbi along with both bibim makguksu (spicy mixed noodles) and mul makguksu (cold broth noodles), alternating the spicy noodles and the chilled broth noodles with bites off the grill. The verdict: if you can't choose between the two makguksu styles at Seorak Makguksu, order both.

I went to Yeoju to eat charcoal-grilled dakgalbi (grilled chicken). When you think dakgalbi, you probably picture it stir-fried on a griddle, right? But grilling it over charcoal these days is honestly so good haha.

This time I visited Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yeoju IC Branch! From the name alone, it feels like a place where you're supposed to eat makguksu (buckwheat noodles) and dakgalbi together haha.

We went all out too — 2 servings of charcoal dakgalbi plus both bibim makguksu and mul makguksu. The dakgalbi-and-makguksu combo is hard to get wrong, it seems.

Let me start the review of this genuinely satisfying Yeoju charcoal dakgalbi spot~

## Where is Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yeoju IC Branch, and is there parking?

As the name suggests, Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yeoju IC Branch is located near Yeoju IC. It's also not far from Yeoju Premium Outlets, so it seemed like a good spot to eat before shopping or after. I imagine a lot of people searching for restaurants near Yeoju Premium Outlets end up here too.

![Building and parking lot of Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yeoju IC Branch](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu-05-3uesx-900.webp)

![Entrance of Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yeoju IC Branch](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu-06-6sz2h-900.webp)

The restaurant is fairly spacious, and there's plenty of parking, so coming by car was no trouble at all. In the Yeoju area you often need to drive to get around, so not having to worry about parking is quietly a big plus!

## What two people ordered: 2 servings of charcoal dakgalbi and both makguksu styles

![Menu board at Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yeoju IC Branch](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu-07-1s3m4-900.webp)

We ordered 2 servings of charcoal dakgalbi plus bibim makguksu and mul makguksu :) We thought about just getting the dakgalbi, but the restaurant's name literally is Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi...? Leaving without trying the makguksu felt like it would be a shame, so we ended up ordering both bibim and mul haha. Eating this way, it really felt like the two of us had a proper full spread.

Banchan (side dishes) could be freely refilled as much as we wanted. There was even a coffee machine on the way out so you could finish the meal cleanly :)

## Mild side dishes, and dakgalbi seared over oak charcoal first

The basic banchan came out first. We started by drinking the cool dongchimi (watery radish kimchi).

![Basic banchan spread including dongchimi](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu-09-1r84p-900.webp)

![Ssam vegetables, perilla leaf pickles, and yeolmu kimchi side dishes](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu-10-1tup1-900.webp)

Ssam vegetables for wrapping the dakgalbi, perilla leaf pickles, and yeolmu kimchi also came out together.

The banchan were generally seasoned mildly, so you could pile a lot into a wrap without it getting too salty :)

![Two servings of pre-seared charcoal dakgalbi](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu-11-13vk5-900.webp)

Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi grills the dakgalbi over charcoal. The chicken comes out pre-seared, so you just need to finish cooking it well on the grill.

## How does the charcoal dakgalbi taste? The smoky edges are the best part

Once the charcoal came up and we put the dakgalbi on, the smell alone was amazing... this is why people eat charcoal dakgalbi, I guess haha. Charcoal dakgalbi definitely feels more focused on the meat itself.

As it grilled, the outside turned slightly golden brown, and each bite carried a subtle smoky aroma — really nice.

The seasoning wasn't overpowering either, so it tasted great on its own, wrapped in the ssam vegetables, or eaten with the side dishes.

![Eating charcoal dakgalbi with ssam vegetables](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu-14-4w9gd-900.webp)

![Close-up of dakgalbi on the grill](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu-15-s56tk-966.webp)

![A piece of charcoal dakgalbi picked up with chopsticks](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu-16-1oaiy-966.webp)

Above all, the chicken wasn't dry at all — it was tender, so I kept picking up piece after piece haha. As you eat, the edges give off a burst of charcoal aroma, and honestly that part was the best for me haha.

## Bibim makguksu: spicy noodles between bites of charcoal dakgalbi

And when eating dakgalbi, makguksu is something you really don't want to skip. First, the bibim makguksu! It comes with the sauce already mixed in, so you just need to toss it well. The noodles had just the right chewiness, pairing well with the sauce.

![Bibim makguksu topped with sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu-19-18z6i-966.webp)

![Bibim makguksu noodles mixed together](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu-20-1rhxb-900.webp)

![Bibim makguksu lifted with chopsticks](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu-21-qnjsi-900.webp)

Despite being called "bibim" (mixed/spicy), it wasn't overwhelmingly spicy or sharp — more like a light spiciness with a nutty flavor mixed in!

![Bibim makguksu with a piece of charcoal dakgalbi](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu-22-15doj-900.webp)

![Bibim makguksu served together with dakgalbi](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu-23-1kd6z-966.webp)

But bibim makguksu really has to be eaten this way. A bite of noodles, then a piece of charcoal dakgalbi together... this combination is genuinely delicious haha. The tangy-spicy makguksu cuts right through the richness of the charcoal dakgalbi, making you reach for another piece of chicken. You're clearly full, yet you keep eating...

## Mul makguksu: a cold broth break in front of the grill

![Cool broth mul makguksu](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu/yeoju-ic-charcoal-dakgalbi-two-makguksu-24-15k8c-900.webp)

We also ordered mul makguksu (cold broth noodles). If bibim makguksu pulls you in with strong seasoning, mul makguksu was much cleaner and more refreshing. When you keep eating charcoal dakgalbi, between the heat of the grill and the richness of the meat, things can start to feel a bit greasy. That's exactly when a sip of the mul makguksu broth hits the spot. So it was surprisingly hard to choose just one of the two haha.

## Bibim makguksu or mul makguksu — which should you order at Seorak Makguksu?

- If you like bold, punchy combinations: charcoal dakgalbi + bibim makguksu
- If you like clean and refreshing: charcoal dakgalbi + mul makguksu
- If you can't decide: just order both haha

+++ Apparently they use Yeoju rice! Next time I'll have to try the rice too haha.
