## In short

Moonbird is a large bakery café near Kyungdong University’s Metropol Campus in Yangju, Gyeonggi. I tried salt bread, a croissant, Jeju green tangerine ade, and red grapefruit ade after looking around its spacious parking lot, terrace, and bright window-lined interior. ## Moonbird near Kyungdong University, a drive-out stop

It is located near Kyungdong University’s Metropol Campus. It makes for a nice little drive, so I recommend coming by car.

The parking lot was what I loved most as soon as we arrived! There are so many spaces, with plenty of room between them too, so it is very convenient for anyone visiting by car.

From the outside, Moonbird felt like visiting a pretty house with a garden. It was clean with a Western, European-style feel, so it almost felt like being abroad too.

Yangju has so many large, pretty cafés with a nice atmosphere, but I had heard that Moonbird in particular has a large outdoor area and is great for photos, so I had been curious about it.

My favorite spot was this huge outdoor terrace and lawn. It was a bit hot on the day I visited, so the terrace tables were not set out, but I think it would be so relaxing to visit in spring or fall when the weather is a little cooler :)

## A spacious, sunlit interior with full-height windows

The interior was spacious, as you would expect from a large café, and the full-height windows gave it such an open, airy feel.

I visited during the day, and sunlight streamed in, making the whole place bright and warm—great for taking photos too.

There was group seating to the left as soon as you walked in. The space itself is roomy, so even when it is busy on weekends, it still felt relatively relaxed. The inner area is run as a no-kids zone, so anyone who likes a quiet, peaceful atmosphere should be able to enjoy it at ease.

## Ade, snowflake bingsu, and bakery treats

The drink menu had lots of options, from coffee and tea to ades and smoothies, plus signature drinks. I also liked that you can switch to decaf.

I heard their snowflake bingsu, finely shaved milk ice, is popular too. There were several kinds—injeolmi (roasted soybean rice cake powder), apple mango, peach, fig, fresh cherry, and red bean bingsu—and they all looked great, so it seems like a nice place to come for bingsu in summer.

There were more bakery items than I expected, and everything looked good quality, so I spent quite a while deciding what to have. In the end, I ordered a Jeju green tangerine ade for ₩8,800, a red grapefruit ade for ₩8,800, salt bread, and a croissant.

## Soft salt bread paired with refreshing ade

Everything was prepared so prettily, and the bright colors of the refreshing ades made the photos turn out even better :) Salt bread is one of my favorite bakery items, so I chose it along with a croissant.

Salt bread sold at large cafés like this is often made long before and can be hard and not very tasty, but this one was mild on the outside and soft and nutty inside. I enjoyed it much more than I expected.

I took the croissant home and ate it that evening, and it was still crisp even after some time had passed. It was delicious without feeling heavy.

The Jeju green tangerine ade had that distinctly tangy, refreshing green-tangerine flavor, so it was wonderfully cooling on a hot day like these. The grapefruit ade was sour with a pleasantly bitter edge, making it cleaner and tastier than the usual ades that are simply sweet.

Having them with the bread made them pair even better with the nutty, sweet desserts, so it was a really good combination. If I visit again, I want to try all the other desserts too.

## A memory preserved in a mini photo print

There was also a machine inside for printing mini photos, which was perfect for keeping a little memory. It was only ₩2,000 and accepts card payment, so we printed one photo of the kids too.

If you are looking for a large café in Yangju with a nice atmosphere, easy parking, or a no-kids-zone space, I think it would be nice to stop by on a drive.
