## In short

Hangsangcharim Kodari Myeongga Ruwon City Branch is a pollock and kodari (half-dried pollock) restaurant that opened in September on Bongoje 3-ro in Ruwon City, Seohae, Incheon. After a movie, the writer brought her parents for the weekday lunch special at the basic spice level, and a staff member deboned the braised kodari piece by piece at the table while banchan (side dishes) refilled freely at the self-serve bar. With a parking tower connected straight to the restaurant and private seating, Hangsangcharim Kodari Myeongga is an easy choice for a Korean meal out with parents.

Have you seen the movie Odyssey? 😉 It was so much fun that I made a rare trip to the movie theater, and I completely lost track of time! After the movie it was already lunchtime, so I looked around for a good Korean restaurant nearby and found a kodari (dried semi-fresh pollock) spot — here's my quick review after visiting!

## Where is Hangsangcharim Kodari Myeongga Ruwon City Branch, and where do you park?

Hangsangcharim Kodari Myeongga Ruwon City Branch is a pollock and kodari specialty Korean restaurant on the 2nd floor of a building at 115 Bongoje 3-ro, Incheon. It's open Mon–Sun 11:00–21:00, with a break time on weekdays from 15:00–16:00. You can park in the parking tower behind the building, and group dining, reservations, and takeout are all available.

![Entrance to the parking tower behind the building](https://img.superchart.com/images/luwon-city-kodari-lunch-special-family/luwon-city-kodari-lunch-special-family-02-8pqh1-900.webp)

![Spacious interior of the parking tower](https://img.superchart.com/images/luwon-city-kodari-lunch-special-family/luwon-city-kodari-lunch-special-family-03-1iig6-900.webp)

For parking, head to the parking tower behind the building shown on the map!

The lot is spacious with plenty of spots, so it seemed easy to get to even if you're not confident driving. No matter where you go, a convenient parking lot is the best 😉

![Building entrance connected to the parking lot](https://img.superchart.com/images/luwon-city-kodari-lunch-special-family/luwon-city-kodari-lunch-special-family-04-1ilwp-900.webp)

I thought the parking tower was a separate building, but once you park and walk in through the entrance, it's directly connected to the restaurant!

Going up to the 2nd floor, you'll find the restaurant entrance! Since it opened in September, there were lots of flower wreaths outside :)

## Inside the restaurant and the self-serve banchan bar

Inside, Hangsangcharim Kodari Myeongga Ruwon City Branch has a calm, clean wood-and-black interior, and the place is very spacious. There's a self-serve bar in the middle of the restaurant where you can refill banchan (side dishes) as much as you like.

![Spacious dining room with wood and black tones](https://img.superchart.com/images/luwon-city-kodari-lunch-special-family/luwon-city-kodari-lunch-special-family-06-xttf4-900.webp)

What I loved was that almost every seat is private, so you can dine comfortably with your group.

One side has windows, which gave the space a brighter, more open feel!

There's also a sign explaining Kodari Myeongga's food on one side!

And right by the door there's a puffed rice cracker machine, which was a fun surprise 🤭 It came out crispy and delicious, so I had it as dessert after the meal :)

The self-serve bar in the middle of the restaurant is also clean and upscale-looking! The banchan are neatly arranged, and you can refill as much as you want.

Every single one of the standard side dishes was delicious, so I ended up refilling several times 🤭

## Menu and how to pick your spice level

The menu at Hangsangcharim Kodari Myeongga Ruwon City Branch ranges from basic braised pollock to pollock ribs and pollock-octopus stew — a wide variety of pollock dishes — plus lunch and dinner specials. You can choose your spice level from spicy, basic, mild, or no spice.

From basic braised pollock to pollock ribs and pollock-octopus stew, there's a wide range of pollock dishes so you can pick according to your taste.

There are also lunch and dinner specials, so you can eat well for a good price. We visited on a weekday for lunch, so we ordered the weekday lunch special :) You can also choose your spice level — spicy, basic, mild, or no spice! When ordering, the staff kindly explained that basic is about as spicy as Shin Ramyeon! We went with basic.

## The weekday lunch special: braised kodari deboned at your table

The braised kodari from the weekday lunch special came out quickly after ordering, and a staff member carefully deboned it for us piece by piece. The spicy main dish came with white side dishes and cold bean sprout soup.

![Weekday lunch special table set right after serving](https://img.superchart.com/images/luwon-city-kodari-lunch-special-family/luwon-city-kodari-lunch-special-family-15-vuhnr-900.webp)

The food came out really fast after we ordered!

![Hearty, spicy braised kodari serving](https://img.superchart.com/images/luwon-city-kodari-lunch-special-family/luwon-city-kodari-lunch-special-family-16-1alz9-900.webp)

It looked so hearty, packed full of kodari!!!! Just the look and smell already had me drooling 🤣

The banchan all came out together too, and since the main dish is spicy, the side dishes were mostly white/mild ones, which balanced everything nicely. Such appetizing side dishes! The kimchi had a fresh, tangy taste that I really liked.

The staff deboned the braised kodari piece by piece for us! Fish is great to eat but picking out the bones is such a hassle — having someone debone it for us before we ate was so nice 🤍

![Braised kodari with bones removed](https://img.superchart.com/images/luwon-city-kodari-lunch-special-family/luwon-city-kodari-lunch-special-family-19-878s4-900.webp)

And it came with cold bean sprout soup too, which paired perfectly with the braised pollock! You know cold bean sprout soup is delicious even cold, right? Haha

![Weekday lunch special with parents where staff debone the kodari, Hangsangcharim](https://img.superchart.com/images/luwon-city-kodari-lunch-special-family/luwon-city-kodari-lunch-special-family-21-kthe2-900.webp)

The pollock had nice plump flesh, so there was plenty to eat!!

![Close-up of plump pollock flesh](https://img.superchart.com/images/luwon-city-kodari-lunch-special-family/luwon-city-kodari-lunch-special-family-22-if3iz-900.webp)

Can you see how plump and generous the flesh is? Haha There was so much meat that your mouth was completely full with each bite! Eaten with rice, it's a true rice thief..!

The plump flesh kept making me want to zoom in for more close-up shots lol. At the basic spice level, it was just right for me! Keep in mind I'm someone who can't handle spicy food well.

![Seaweed wrap with kodari and bean sprouts](https://img.superchart.com/images/luwon-city-kodari-lunch-special-family/luwon-city-kodari-lunch-special-family-23-14d9i-900.webp)

It's delicious just eating the kodari with rice, but it's even tastier if you use the banchan! Put the kodari on a piece of seasoned laver from the side dishes, add some pale bean sprouts, and wrap it up — even more delicious.

![Fresh salad served alongside the kodari](https://img.superchart.com/images/luwon-city-kodari-lunch-special-family/luwon-city-kodari-lunch-special-family-24-ffncv-900.webp)

The refreshing salad also paired well with the kodari, so I scraped the whole thing clean.
