## What kind of place is Manokamana in Songdo Triple Street?

Manokamana is an Indian restaurant run by Indian locals, located inside Triple Street in Songdo. I was wondering what to eat at Songdo Triple Street and ended up here. We'd actually been to the Manokamana flagship in Ansan before, and remembered enjoying it a lot, so I was so happy to spot it in Songdo Triple Street haha. If you like curry or naan, it's worth a visit. This time was delicious again, so here's my review :)

## What comes with Set A for two at Manokamana?

🍛 We ordered Set A! Visiting as a pair, we went with Set A this time. Whenever we come for Indian curry, we always debate between ordering individual dishes or getting a set, but when you want to try several menu items together, a set is just easier.

You get curry, naan, rice, and tandoori chicken all at once, which made for a great spread for two. You could also pick your curry flavor, and we went with butter chicken curry!

If it's your first time with Indian curry, or if strongly spiced curries feel intimidating, starting with something mild and rich like butter chicken might be a good idea. I personally love butter chicken curry, so I picked it without a second thought haha.

## Plain lassi and strawberry lassi at Manokamana

For drinks, we ordered one plain lassi and one strawberry lassi. You can't skip lassi when eating Indian food haha. The plain lassi had a clean white look, while the strawberry lassi had strawberry mixed in, so it was pretty just to look at.

Ordering one of each and taking turns sipping them was fun, and personally I thought lassi paired really well with spiced dishes like curry and tandoori. It was nice to take a cool sip in between bites.

## Why Indian curry tastes best with naan

🫓 When the food came out, the first thing that caught my eye was the huge naan! It looks pretty big in photos, but its presence is even bigger once it's actually on the table haha.

It was grilled to a nice golden brown with charred spots here and there, and cut into long strips that were easy to dip into curry. Tearing off a piece of naan and dragging it through a generous scoop of butter chicken curry is genuinely delicious.

The curry was mild and rich, which paired well with the naan, and I kept reaching for more. Switching from naan to rice with curry partway through gave a completely different feel. Since rice came along too, we got to enjoy it two ways: naan with curry, and rice with curry.

## How was the butter chicken curry?

🍛 The curry we picked this time was butter chicken curry! As pictured, it came as a deep orange curry with cream swirled on top, and it looked delicious just from the visuals. It had that signature butter chicken smoothness and richness, which went really well with the naan.

You could taste the spices, but it wasn't an intimidating flavor at all, so I kept going back for more. We thought Manokamana's food was delicious back when we tried the Ansan flagship, and Songdo branch was just as satisfying :) Taking a bite of naan loaded with curry, then a sip of lassi, is the perfect combo haha.

## Tandoori chicken in Set A

🍗 The set also came with tandoori chicken, grilled red. Coated with spices on the outside, it definitely looks different from regular fried chicken.

Taking a bite, you get a real hit of spice on the outside with chicken inside, which was a nice change of pace after eating curry and naan for a while. It came with a sauce too, so you could dip it depending on your preference.

Alternating between naan, butter chicken curry, rice, and tandoori chicken let us enjoy a much wider variety than sticking to just one dish.

## The side dishes served with the set

🥒 Pickles, jalapeños, and kkakdugi (radish kimchi) came out as basic sides. Eating curry and naan continuously can feel a bit heavy after a while, but taking a bite of tangy pickles or spicy jalapeños in between felt like it reset my palate! It was also fun that kkakdugi, familiar to Korean tastes, came out alongside everything haha.

## Ansan flagship vs the Songdo branch of Manokamana

❤️ This wasn't my first time at Manokamana — I'd been to the Ansan flagship before, so I had some expectations going into the Songdo branch. And once again, it was delicious.

A lot of people think Indian curry is hit or miss because of the spices, but picking something relatively mild and rich like butter chicken curry makes it easier to enjoy. If you're visiting as a pair like we did, ordering a set to try curry, naan, rice, and tandoori chicken together is also a good idea.

Adding a strawberry lassi and a plain lassi on top made it feel like a proper Indian meal haha. What made it even better was that, following the Ansan flagship, we also had a great meal at Songdo Triple Street.
