## In short

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is a Chinese restaurant in Haeundae, Busan, with ocean views. I tried the beef brisket jjamppong, egg-yolk gan-jjajang, jajangmyeon, and fish-fragrant eggplant. Verdict: a lovely choice for a family meal or gathering by the sea.

## An ocean-view Chinese restaurant in Haeundae Marine City

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is on the second floor at 51 Marine city 3-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan, South Korea. It is open daily from 11:00 to 21:00, with a break from 15:00 to 16:30.

I know lots of you look for places to eat in Haeundae, so today I’m introducing Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch, an ocean-view Chinese restaurant. It is on the second floor of Subyeon Choego Dwaeji Gukbap, so it is easy to find; after parking at The Sharp ADELIS and coming around the back street, it was right there. Get your parking ticket stamped and you can park free for 1 hour 30 minutes, so this Marine City restaurant is convenient for parking too :)

![Waiting area in front of the second-floor restaurant](https://img.superchart.com/images/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan-03-seynv-900.webp)

I took the elevator up to the second floor, where there was even a waiting area. I arrived a little before the dinner rush, so I could comfortably take photos of the interior.

A Haeundae restaurant that embraces an ocean view outside. With a view like this, it absolutely deserves a spot on the Marine City restaurant list, right? Haha

![First-come window seats and a spacious interior](https://img.superchart.com/images/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan-06-s1ay2-900.webp)

The window-view seats are first come, first served, so it is even better to reserve one. Further inside, the spacious, upscale interior is just as impressive. Such Marine City restaurant quality.. 🤩

![Upscale restaurant interior](https://img.superchart.com/images/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan-07-1eso2-900.webp)

There are also various private rooms available with a reservation, so I recommend it for Marine City work dinners or larger gatherings too.

![Reservable private room at the restaurant](https://img.superchart.com/images/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan-08-13b6y-900.webp)

This is a room that can be assigned for relatively small reservations, and I think it may be the most private seat at Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch.

- BUUK Jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) ₩8,000
- Egg-yolk Gan-jjajang (stir-fried black bean noodles) ₩10,000
- Beef Brisket Jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) ₩12,000
- Fish-Fragrant Eggplant ₩22,000

## How was the beef brisket jjamppong?

> Beef Brisket Jjamppong

![Beef brisket jjamppong](https://img.superchart.com/images/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan-10-tedfz-900.webp)

Thinly sliced beef brisket lends its richness to the deep broth, so the distinctive flavor of beef melts right into this jjamppong.

I’ve always really loved meat-based jjamppong, and this dish at Bueokgan was exactly my kind of food. There is the tiniest hint of mala spice, and anyone who likes heat will be very happy with it hahaha. It was hard to find a jjamppong place among the Dongbaekseom restaurants, but I finally found oneㅠ

So delicious..... If you are a meat-jjamppong person, you must order this...

## Fish-fragrant eggplant and jajangmyeon too

> Fish-Fragrant Eggplant

![Fish-fragrant eggplant with doubanjiang sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan-13-3la4h-900.webp)

![Fish-fragrant eggplant with fried eggplant](https://img.superchart.com/images/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan-14-topds-900.webp)

This dish tosses fried eggplant in a fish-fragrant sauce made with minced pork and doubanjiang (fermented chili bean paste). Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour fried pork) or kkangpungi (spicy garlic fried chicken) felt like they might be too heavy, so we ordered the eggplant instead, and it felt especially refined among the mains haha. The texture was great, and both my child and I enjoyed this main dish!

> Egg-Yolk Pork Belly Gan-jjajang

![Egg-yolk pork belly gan-jjajang](https://img.superchart.com/images/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan-15-1d9zc-900.webp)

The gan-jjajang was exactly how I like it: savory and thick. Break the soft-cooked egg yolk over it and mix it in for an even glossier bowl of gan-jjajang, and it is pure heaven.

![Thick gan-jjajang with the egg yolk broken in](https://img.superchart.com/images/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan-16-1mx8w-900.webp)

It was definitely thick, but once I broke the egg yolk, it became gan-jjajang with just the right consistency. The pork belly was tasty too 🥺 This is the kind of Haeundae restaurant where even a simple bowl of gan-jjajang could sort out lunch.

> Jajangmyeon

![Bueokgan’s basic jajangmyeon](https://img.superchart.com/images/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan-17-qktpx-900.webp)

Bueokgan’s basic jajangmyeon. I heard it is made in the traditional way, with thick-cut pork, onion, and cabbage slowly cooked over low heat until their flavors draw out. The instant I tried it, I said, “Oh, this tastes just like old-school jajang!” And that was exactly the flavor haha.

![Traditional jajangmyeon with a boiled egg](https://img.superchart.com/images/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan-18-1fec7-900.webp)

It was a little less salty than the gan-jjajang, which actually made it more satisfying for my child. The regular jajangmyeon also comes with half a boiled egg^^

![Jajangmyeon that was good for a child too](https://img.superchart.com/images/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan/haeundae-woosamgyeop-jjamppong-bueokgan-19-h4x81-900.webp)

Our Dongbaekseom restaurant outing ended on a happy note with Bueokgan’s jajangmyeon, which was great for my child too. Honestly, there are not many places in Marine City where you can enjoy such a pretty ocean view along with upscale Chinese food, so I hope more people hear about it! Every dish was delicious, so next time I plan to come back for kkangpungi and jjamppong haha.
