## In short

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is a Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor of Subyeonchoego Pork Gukbap in Marine City, Haeundae, Busan. The shop parking lot was full on a weekend, so the writer parked on the street and walked in, but landed a window seat with a view of Dongbaekseom Island while eating usamgyeop beef jjamppong (spicy noodle soup), black vinegar pork tangsuyuk, and poached-egg jajangmyeon. The jjamppong and tangsuyuk were satisfying, though the jajangmyeon runs sweet, so it's worth checking your taste before ordering.

I went out to Haeundae today and heard there was a good Chinese restaurant for dining out at Marine City, so I headed straight to Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch.

## Basic info and parking at Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch

- Hours: daily 11:00–22:00 (break time 15:30–17:00)
- Group seating, separate men's/women's restrooms, high chairs, reservations, Wi-Fi, takeout, waiting area, parking

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is on the 2nd floor of Suybeonchoego Pork Gukbap, so it isn't hard to find.

🚗 As for parking, they said the shopping complex lot was available, but when I arrived it was full and I couldn't park there, so I barely managed to squeeze in on the street and walked over. Weekends really do have a parking crunch, so I'd recommend arriving early.

## A spacious, comfortable hall — and high chairs too

The spacious, comfortable interior catches your eye right away. The decor is really clean, and given the location, it seems like a lot of groups and families come here. There were also plenty of babies around, and high chairs are provided so you can eat comfortably.

### Book the private rooms ahead of time

There are private rooms inside where you can enjoy a meal away from the crowd, and when we visited we saw a lot of them already reserved as people were walking in. If you're coming with family or a group, I'd really recommend booking well in advance 🔥

### Dongbaekseom Island from the window seats

We got lucky and grabbed an empty window seat, and having Dongbaekseom Island right in view like this was amazing. Since the place sits right by the sea, it's undeniably a great spot for the view :)

## What we ordered and the prices

From the Chinese-restaurant basics like jajangmyeon and jjamppong to tangsuyuk and various other dishes, there's a wide selection. We ordered poached-egg jajangmyeon, usamgyeop beef jjamppong, and — because it would've felt wrong to skip it — a small black vinegar pork tangsuyuk.

- Poached-egg jajangmyeon ₩10,000
- Usamgyeop beef jjamppong ₩12,000
- Black vinegar pork tangsuyuk (small) ₩28,000

They said they'll give you fish-fragrant dumplings if you leave a receipt photo review, so it might be worth leaving one.

The basic side dishes were pickled radish and danmuji (pickled yellow radish) — must-haves when eating oily Chinese food.

The jjamppong and tangsuyuk we ordered came out first (♡). The jajangmyeon seemed to be a bit delayed, so after waiting a while we ended up starting with the jjamppong.

### Usamgyeop beef jjamppong

🔥 A spicy jjamppong broth full of smoky wok-hei flavor with beef brisket slices — a flavor that really couldn't go wrong. They said the noodles are boiled fresh the moment you order, and rather than being chewy, they came out soft, which I think would make it easy for kids to eat too.

### Black vinegar pork tangsuyuk (small)

Nearly every table seemed to have ordered this black vinegar tangsuyuk. The tangy black vinegar sauce paired with crispy tangsuyuk is a can't-fail combination as a side dish. Even the small size wasn't small at all — plenty to fill you up.

![Poached-egg jajangmyeon arriving last](https://img.superchart.com/images/haeundae-marine-city-chinese-window-seat/haeundae-marine-city-chinese-window-seat-17-1uz09-966.webp)

### Poached-egg jajangmyeon

Last to arrive was the poached-egg jajangmyeon (black bean noodles). The look of it — a poached egg on top of the jajangmyeon, with shredded cucumber over that — was striking.

Once you pop the poached egg and mix it well into the jajangmyeon, you get noodles with this glossy, glistening sheen.

There are onions and big chunks of meat inside, plus the richness of the poached egg on top, but the jajangmyeon sauce itself runs a bit sweet, so keep that in mind. If you're not a fan of sweet food, I'd honestly say skip it 🙏

My husband asked the staff for red pepper flakes and piled them generously on top of the jajangmyeon, so we got to enjoy it two ways.

## A Chinese restaurant in Haeundae Marine City — would I go back?

This was a Chinese restaurant we stopped by while out and about in Haeundae. Bueokgan Chinese has a clean dining hall and a great location, so it seems like a solid pick for lunch when you're in Haeundae 🧡 Since it's in Marine City, it's easy to grab a bite and head somewhere else afterward, and I really liked having Dongbaekseom Island right outside the window.

There are also private rooms, so if you want a more private meal, be sure to book ahead. Personally, I thought the jjamppong and tangsuyuk were great, while the jajangmyeon runs sweet for adults' taste — kids would probably love it though. The jjamppong broth itself was so good that next time I'd probably try the jjamppongbap (jjamppong over rice) :)

If you're looking for a good Chinese restaurant in Haeundae Marine City, or just a good spot in the Marine City area in general, I'd recommend giving Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch a visit 👍
