Daytime drinking really is the best drinking, and pairing good samgyeopsal with soju is my ultimate favorite combo haha. This time we revisited a Geomdan restaurant famous for its generous service — Taedon at Geomdan Sageori — and wow, they really give you SO much extra! Steamed egg, jjolmyeon, napjak mandu, assorted mushrooms — the table was completely packed with food. Such a great value Geomdan BBQ spot! A generous ttukbaegi (stone pot) steamed egg, tangy-sweet bibim jjolmyeon, five kinds of farm-fresh assorted mushrooms, napjak mandu (Daegu's famous flat dumplings), and even a handmade crispy kadayif Dubai-style chewy ssamjang. These are clearly made with care, and to think they're all completely free — everything was delicious too! Wrapping pork belly in napjak mandu tastes kind of like wrapping meat in rice cake at Wonhalmoni Bossam. Wow, with the assorted mushrooms too, it was a truly perfect spread! I love grilling kimchi, gosari, and muchae together, and they gave us so much that we never got tired of wrapping bite after bite — it was so delicious. The drinks just kept flowing haha. Maybe because they use carefully selected handon pork, but even just grilled plain, the meat smell alone was already delicious haha. Taedon also uses a dedicated grill plate system that maintains consistent heat instead of charcoal, maximizing the juiciness and flavor of the meat! The tangy-sweet bibim jjolmyeon with chewy kkodeulsal, combined with the nutty flavor of the samgyeopsal and the tangy-sweet sauce, wasn't heavy at all, so we ended up eating until we were completely stuffed.
