The tube made it easy to control the amount. When squeezed onto the back of my hand, it had a soft, deep gray cream texture, and I could see fine charcoal particles up close. The scent was not strong.

After wetting my face with water, I dispensed some into my palm and worked it into a lather. Low-pH products have sometimes lacked foam for me, but this one made dense, abundant foam even with a small amount.
