Lately, I’ve been checking out the new spots one by one around Dongpyeon Village’s café street, and this time I visited Notten, where you can enjoy brunch and specialty coffee together :)

## A place for brunch and coffee in Dongpyeon Village

Located on Dongpyeon Village’s café street, it’s a great place to go for brunch or simply linger over a cup of coffee. There’s a patch of lawn out front and floor-to-ceiling windows, so I think the atmosphere would be even nicer on a beautiful day. They also have terrace seating, so on lovely days like these, brunch outdoors would be nice too, haha.

High chairs for babies and children are available too, so it’s just right if you’re looking for a café to visit with a baby in Anyang—especially a good brunch spot in Dongpyeon Village!

Overall, Notten is less of a lavishly decorated brunch café and more of a place that prepares good ingredients in-house for simple, clean flavors.

## House-made Korean wheat bread and brunch dishes

Notten prepares many of its brunch, bakery, dessert, and drink offerings in-house. In particular, they use 100% Korean-wheat morning buns baked fresh daily, whole-wheat and rye breads, house-cured pork-neck bacon, house-made vanilla-bean syrup, and seasonal fruit syrups.

### Menu

- Seasonal campagne French toast (daily limited item), ₩12,000: French toast made with 100% Korean-wheat campagne bread

Even looking through the menu, it felt less like a café simply selling a few brunch dishes and more like a place that prepares and combines every ingredient itself. For coffee, they introduce beans from a range of Korean specialty roasters, including Lowkey, Momos Coffee, Pastel Coffee Works, and Signature Roasters, rather than using only standard beans. That day, I wanted coffee with my brunch too~~ There were lots of special drinks, including a raspberry-cheese milk wash (daily limited item), so I’d love to return and try every one of them.

## Korean wheat bread and jamón plate with a vanilla latte

I ordered the Korean wheat bread & jamón plate. It costs ₩18,000 and lets you enjoy 100% Korean wheat bread and house-made jamón together. With the bread and jamón served on one plate, it looked quite appetizing too.

For coffee, I ordered a vanilla latte. Notten’s vanilla latte is made with house-made vanilla-bean syrup, lactose-free milk, and specialty coffee beans. I usually like vanilla lattes, so I gave it a try, and it wasn’t just overly sweet—the coffee aroma came through too, making it great with the bread.

The gentle fragrance unique to vanilla bean and the smooth taste of milk came together, with a hint of the coffee beans’ aroma lingering at the end. 🤎 It was perfect to drink alongside brunch. Personally, I’m always a little disappointed when the coffee at a brunch café falls short, but I really loved that I could enjoy specialty coffee here too. Next time, I want to try different beans as a hand-drip coffee, haha.

## A jamón brunch that lets the ingredients shine

I like brunch dishes with these clean, simple flavors, so I loved it on my first visit. It works well as a late breakfast or lunch, and with coffee alongside it, it makes for a satisfying meal.

Above all, I liked how simple and wholesome the bread itself was.

At brunch cafés these days, there are menus loaded with bold sauces or ingredients, but Notten’s bread plate is the kind of dish you eat while tasting the ingredients themselves, so it doesn’t feel heavy.

The simple Korean wheat bread went really well with the house-made jamón~ Rather than eating it all in one go, I found myself putting the jamón on the bread and trying each component separately to compare the flavors, haha.

From the 100% Korean wheat bread and house-made jamón to the house-made vanilla-bean syrup, they prepare the ingredients that go into the menu themselves. I liked that every item felt not overly intense, but designed to bring out the ingredients’ flavors. Above all, it suits the relaxed atmosphere unique to Dongpyeon Village’s café street, making it a great Anyang brunch spot for eating brunch, having a coffee, and chatting slowly.

Next time, I’m going to choose a bread item too and try a hand-drip coffee. It felt like I’d found a new Anyang Dongpyeon Village café where I can enjoy brunch, bakery treats, and specialty coffee all in one place, so I’m already looking forward to my next visit.
