## In short

Haejeongjip is a Korean bossam (boiled pork wraps) restaurant in the Hongdae–Hapjeong area of Seoul, a 5-minute walk from Hapjeong Station Exit 6. The medium pollack sashimi bossam is 38,000 won and the Sokcho pollack sashimi naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles) is 15,000 won, but the bossam already arrives with a mountain of pollack sashimi, so ordering a plain mul-naengmyeon or bibim-naengmyeon is the better value. The complimentary haejangguk (hangover soup) served with the pollack bossam has a deep, rich broth, making Haejeongjip a solid choice for a meal with parents or a group gathering.

Today I'm introducing a real gem of a Korean restaurant near Hapjeong and Hongdae that I visited with my mom, who loves naengmyeon (cold noodles). The name itself basically calls out for a hangover cure — it's Haejeongjip! There's a really important ordering tip coming up, so stick with me to the end, haha!

## Where is Haejeongjip, and how far is it from Hapjeong Station?

Haejeongjip is a 5-minute walk from Hapjeong Station Exit 6! The address is 45 Yanghwa-ro 6-gil, 1st floor, Unit 101, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea.

![View of the building entrance to Haejeongjip](https://img.superchart.com/images/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam-02-10r4q-900.webp)

## Inside Haejeongjip: atmosphere and the private room for 6

![Interior of Haejeongjip's 1st floor dining hall](https://img.superchart.com/images/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam-03-f4vyt-900.webp)

Walking in, I was surprised by how spacious it was — there's a 1st floor and a basement level too!

![Clean, well-designed seating at Haejeongjip](https://img.superchart.com/images/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam-04-3ugf6-900.webp)

The interior was clean and the atmosphere was great, so there were customers of all ages. Even on a weekday evening at 6pm when we went, it was already bustling.

![Haejeongjip's makgeolli menu board](https://img.superchart.com/images/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam-05-yzwua-900.webp)

They also had a huge selection of makgeolli (Korean rice wine). Anyone who loves to drink would go crazy here.🤤 While looking at the menu I spotted something eye-catching: banana ube makgeolli.

![Menu listing banana ube makgeolli](https://img.superchart.com/images/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam-06-12xl0-900.webp)

Ube is like a purple sweet potato, so I was curious what it would taste like combined with banana.😁 I was too full to try it this time, but next time I'm definitely going for this curious makgeolli. With so many delicious makgeolli options, this place is perfect for pairing drinks with your meal.

The restrooms were separated by gender, which was convenient, and best of all, there's a private room that fits up to 6 people!

This would be perfect for a group hangout with friends or a family gathering if you book ahead. It's hard to find a quiet Korean restaurant with a private room near Hapjeong or Hongdae, so this one's a real find!

## What we ordered at Haejeongjip and what it cost

![Haejeongjip's Korean menu board including pan-fried cuttlefish](https://img.superchart.com/images/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam-09-230mv-900.webp)

The menu had a wide variety of Korean dishes, including pan-fried cuttlefish!

- Pollack sashimi bossam (medium) — ₩38,000
- Sokcho pollack sashimi naengmyeon — ₩15,000

We wanted to try a bit of everything, so after some deliberation, we ordered the restaurant's popular signature dishes.

![Kimchi and kkakdugi served in brassware bowls](https://img.superchart.com/images/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam-10-1tblh-900.webp)

After ordering, two neatly arranged types of kimchi came out served in clean brassware bowls. Can you see how good the kimchi and kkakdugi (radish kimchi) look?

## Pollack sashimi bossam (medium), 38,000 won: a mountain of pollack

And finally, the main event! Pollack sashimi bossam.

![A full spread of Haejeongjip's medium pollack sashimi bossam](https://img.superchart.com/images/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam-12-18ur8-900.webp)

Can you see the glossy sheen on the bossam meat? Tenderly boiled pork, and the pollack sashimi served alongside it is... seriously incredible.

![Pollack sashimi piled up like a mountain](https://img.superchart.com/images/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam-13-ec88l-900.webp)

Isn't the owner incredibly generous? They piled the pollack sashimi up like a literal mountain! Haha.

![Close-up of glossy, tender bossam meat](https://img.superchart.com/images/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam-14-s947q-900.webp)

Piling the spicy-sweet-and-sour pollack sashimi onto the tender bossam meat and taking one bite... oh man, this is it!

![A piece of bossam meat topped with pollack sashimi](https://img.superchart.com/images/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam-15-1bcvt-900.webp)

The savoriness of the meat combined with the texture of the pollack sashimi, and it disappeared in no time.

![Pollack sashimi bossam wrapped in cabbage leaf](https://img.superchart.com/images/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam-16-1gvyp-900.webp)

It's also delicious wrapped in cabbage leaves.🦦

## Sokcho pollack sashimi naengmyeon, 15,000 won: how to order it smartly

If you're going to order naengmyeon at Haejeongjip, I'd recommend a plain mul-naengmyeon (cold noodle soup) or bibim-naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles) instead of the pollack sashimi naengmyeon (₩15,000). The bossam already comes with so much pollack sashimi that you really don't need more of it in your noodles.

![A bowl of Sokcho pollack sashimi naengmyeon](https://img.superchart.com/images/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam-17-13khc-900.webp)

And this is the Sokcho pollack sashimi naengmyeon we ordered together. This one's also topped with a huge amount of pollack sashimi!

![Naengmyeon topped generously with pollack sashimi](https://img.superchart.com/images/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam-18-y0cpb-900.webp)

Since the bossam already comes with so much pollack sashimi, there's really no need to order the pollack sashimi naengmyeon on top of it. Haha.

![Table spread with pollack sashimi naengmyeon and bossam together](https://img.superchart.com/images/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam-19-1fx3k-1200.webp)

With plenty of sashimi already coming with the pollack bossam, ordering a plain bibim-naengmyeon or mul-naengmyeon and topping it with the extra pollack sashimi from the bossam would be perfect! This is a much better value way to order. Don't make the same mistake I did — order it this way!😁

![Mixed pollack sashimi naengmyeon](https://img.superchart.com/images/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam-20-yx3us-900.webp)

## The free haejangguk that comes with the pollack bossam

Oh, and here's another masterstroke from Haejeongjip! When you order the pollack bossam, you get a free haejangguk (hangover soup)? And this soup's broth is the real deal.

![Complimentary haejangguk served with the pollack bossam order](https://img.superchart.com/images/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam-21-1r4qa-900.webp)

Don't think of it as some throwaway soup just because it's complimentary. The broth flavor is deep and rich — the moment you take a sip, an involuntary 'ahh, that hits the spot!' comes out.

![Hearty haejangguk broth loaded with ingredients](https://img.superchart.com/images/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam/haejeongjip-hapjeong-pollack-bossam-22-1q81j-900.webp)

It's also loaded with hearty ingredients, so you could finish a whole bowl of rice with just this. It's the kind of taste that instantly explains why it's called Haejeongjip. If you drink, this soup alone is a whole bottle of soju's worth. Haha.

## Is Haejeongjip worth going back to?

Would I go back? 🙆🏻‍♀️ Delicious pollack bossam, deep-flavored haejangguk, and a spacious, clean space — that was Haejeongjip, a must-visit near Hapjeong and Hongdae. It's a flavor that people of all ages will enjoy, so I'd strongly recommend it for bringing your parents or hosting a group gathering! If you visit, don't forget the ordering tip I shared!😉
