After such a hot summer, you can't help craving comfort food and Korean food..!! ㅠㅠㅠ I've grown to love Korean food even more lately, so this place was exactly what I needed! 👍🏻 If you love really tender boiled pork, this will be right up your alley! Great for dates, for taking your parents, or for a work dinner — this is Okdengjang Seohyeon Branch!

It was full of traditional-style Korean dishes! Since some of the names look similar and can be confusing, the owner came right over and explained them to us! They said the doenjang (soybean paste) hot pot is a big lunch seller, but since we were eating together as two, we ordered the medium mixed boiled pork hot pot and the spicy squid and minari salad!!

There were lots of thoughtful combos and lunch specials, so it felt like anyone could enjoy Okdengjang whenever, with whoever — even solo! With such a wide range of choices, it seemed like it could easily handle a big group ㅎㅎ I think that's also why so many families come here — it's good drinking food and a full meal for the adults, and the boiled pork hot pot is healthy enough to order for kids too.

## How was the medium mixed boiled pork hot pot?

Here's the medium boiled pork hot pot we ordered! It comes out in a wide pot, and the broth wasn't salty at all — the seasoning was just right! Minari and red chili added extra flavor, and the boiled pork had every cut mixed in evenly, so it was great for trying a bit of everything!

The cartilage meat especially was so tender to chew, it was delicious!! Dipped in the various sauces, it's pure honey! We also added extra rice ㅎㅎ

## How much squid and minari salad do you actually get?

The second thing we ordered was the spicy squid and minari salad! The portion is genuinely huge! We ate about two-thirds of it as two people and still had leftovers, so keep that in mind~

The seasoning was even better than I imagined! Just spicy enough, and the perilla leaf and minari aroma was amazing,,, the squid was thick and generously loaded on too, so even after grabbing two or three pieces the whole time, there was still plenty left..!! It's a hidden gem — totally recommend.

Got it all in one shot! The yeolmu (young radish) kimchi and napa cabbage kimchi were also delicious with rice — such a warm, nourishing meal!! It made me think I'd love to bring my mom and dad here next time! It's the perfect spot to come for lunch and have a hearty doenjang boiled pork meal — the taste is guaranteed, so you really can't go wrong!!

## Getting there from Seohyeon Station and the vibe inside

Come out of Seohyeon Station Exit 4 and it's right on the corner of the intersection behind Megabox, so it's easy to find! There's parking on site plus a nearby public lot, so it's really convenient to visit by car too! It's also super close to the station, so it's walkable — the location couldn't be more convenient.

They even let you check the menu outside while waiting! Everything's written big and clear, so this place is super easy to read... the owner's got great taste too! Highly recommend for anyone who wants a quiet, retro-vibe dinner without the noise!

It was so busy I couldn't take many interior photos ㅠㅠ Every seat had comfortable chairs, and there was space underneath to put your bags, which was nice!

## Overall thoughts and tips

Walk-ins are fine, but during peak hours you might have to wait, so I'd recommend reserving ahead of time~~ Every dish was so good it felt like a shame to order just one,, this is a place where the more people you bring, the better it gets!! Come as a group, order a bit of everything, and share — it'll be even better! (❁´◡`❁)
