I've been going to Gongdeok every now and then lately, and you know how after a meal you always end up craving coffee and dessert? Haha, there's a separate stomach for meals and a separate stomach for dessert~ This time I just meant to grab a coffee, but I couldn't walk past the salt bread and egg tart... Walking into Fluffy Bake Shop, the first thing that caught my eye was the deliciously arranged display of desserts.

I really meant to just have one or two things lightly, but the salt bread looked good and the egg tart looked good, so I ended up picking both ^_^. Having this many options is honestly a bit cruel for someone who loves dessert.

I visited Fluffy Bake Shop around lunchtime after opening, and the display was packed full with various kinds of baked goods.

Madeleines, financiers, canelés — the display was full of delicious-looking baked treats. Even on weekdays, a lot sells out in the afternoon, so I'd recommend visiting in the morning.

They also offer gift wrapping, in both large and small box sizes. The boxes are cute and pretty, perfect for gifting.

Baked goods use a lot of butter, so the butter's flavor really matters, which means good butter is essential. Fluffy Bake Shop says they use Lescure Charentes-Poitou AOP butter.

I really love baked goods, so I go around trying places known to be good, and honestly this was the first place with this much variety. Crisp outside, chewy-soft inside canelés too, in three kinds — earl grey canelé, chocolate canelé, and vanilla canelé.

First up was my personal pick — salt bread. Personally, when it comes to salt bread I don't like it too chewy or too fluffy on the outside; I prefer it slightly crisp outside with a buttery, moist cave-like inside. Fluffy Bake Shop's salt bread was exactly my style.

On the first bite, the outside was slightly crispy, and it got softer and moister toward the middle. A subtle saltiness rose up through the plain bread, and it was genuinely delicious.

The savory richness of the butter and the saltiness came through together, which made it great with a cold iced americano too. It wasn't harshly salty — just enough to bring out the bread's savory flavor, which I loved. I love salt bread and buy it wherever I see it, and I genuinely recommend Fluffy Bake Shop's salt bread. You have to try it!
