On this trip to Jeju, I visited Jejurowoon Cheonghaewon Seongsan Ilchulbong Branch (제주로운청해원 성산일출봉점) in Sinyang Village near Sinyang Seopjikoji Beach. It was in a relatively quiet location, but customers continued to arrive even well after weekday dinner hours. We let the braised hairtail simmer on a burner at the table as we ate. Rather than being dominated by a strong seasoning, it was cleanly braised and easy to eat. I also liked the freshly cooked glutinous pot rice. I first served myself some rice, then poured water into the pot and left it until the end of the meal, when I refreshed my palate with sungnyung (scorched-rice tea).
