In Dangjin, you often drive around looking for good restaurants, and inconvenient parking can quietly become a hassle, right? Here, you can park and walk straight into the restaurant, which was nice. I think people looking for a parking-friendly restaurant in Wondang, Dangjin can visit comfortably too. It felt neat from the entrance, and it was easy to walk in from the front. Since it is a grilled-fish restaurant, there was also a waiting area by the entrance. A place where you do not have to wait in the heat or cold! It was nice to have somewhere to use while waiting briefly, and fish smells clinging to your clothes after a meal can be a concern, but they had preparations for that too. Coming to Dangjin for grilled fish and noticing these thoughtful details made me think this place was pretty good. And the food is good too 🙂 ### Spacious interior and seating Once inside, the restaurant was larger than I expected. There were quite a few tables, and the space between seats did not feel cramped, making it comfortable for a meal. The overall atmosphere was clean, so I thought it would be a good option when looking for a Korean restaurant in Dangjin with your parents. You order on the tablet at the table! It was not just the main dish—you could bring yourself various side dishes, making the meal feel much more generous. There was rice ready too, along with soup or porridge-type dishes, and even tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes)!!! With so many side dishes, you could go and get more of anything you needed during the meal. They even had dishes like japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), so it felt a little different from a restaurant where you only eat grilled fish. Eating all kinds of side dishes with grilled fish made one bowl of rice disappear in no time haha. It tasted exactly like the delicious spicy pork you imagine. It was not unusually special or different; it was that familiar, delicious spicy stir-fried pork flavor we all know. It also had that overall feeling of food from a good Korean restaurant. It even had bracken fern, so the owner clearly knows good food ☀️ Rather than being extremely bold or unusual, it had a familiar Korean flavor that goes well with rice. The kind of restaurant where you go to a good spot and think, “This is tasty, right?” ## A hearty Korean meal in Dangjin If you want a hearty Korean meal in Dangjin, Hwadeogeuro Gan Godeungeo Dangjin Wondang Branch was a good choice. Parking was easy, and the restaurant was spacious, so it was nice to eat at a relaxed pace. Above all, I liked that there were not only grilled fish options but also spicy pork and braised mackerel sets, so you could enjoy different dishes together. There is a self-service bar too, where you can get as many extra side dishes or bowls of rice as you want, so I definitely did not leave thinking I was still hungry haha. The grilled mackerel set I tried was not fishy, and its distinctively rich, oily flavor was nutty and delicious. The spicy pork set had exactly that delicious spicy stir-fried pork flavor you expect, so it went really well with rice. I liked that the radish in the braised mackerel was not overly soft and still had a little texture. Overall, rather than a place for special fusion food, it felt like somewhere you can have delicious grilled fish and Korean food in a filling way. So I think it would suit people looking for a clean, comfortable place to eat with their parents while traveling in Dangjin, or those searching for a good restaurant in Wondang, Dangjin.
