## In short

Ito is an izakaya in Gwangjin, Seoul, a 2-minute walk from Exit 2 of Konkuk University Station. Two friends ordered the Ito Han-sang set (assorted sashimi plus millefeuille nabe) for 63,000 won, added udon noodles for 2,000 won and shared a draft Kelly beer and a Coke Zero, spending 72,500 won in total. The portions were just right for two, and finishing the millefeuille nabe broth with udon noodles was the best decision of the night.

I went out for an izakaya date with a friend. The plan was to eat something good and catch a movie afterward, but with Spider-Man and Odyssey both just out, there weren't many good showtimes left. So we just decided to relax, eat well at an izakaya, and chat. In Konkuk, a haven for good restaurants and bars, we picked this cozy spot: "Ito" (이토, meaning "connecting ties"). I'd been once before and loved it so much I talked my friend into coming.

Ito is a 2-minute walk from Exit 2 of Konkuk University Station. In this sweltering weather, being close to the station is everything.

## Partitioned seats and Japanese songs: the mood inside Ito

Ito has partitioned seating, making it a quiet izakaya in Konkuk where you can focus purely on conversation with your group. True to its reputation as a Konkuk izakaya with atmosphere, you feel the Japanese vibe from the entrance wall onward!

There's even a small waiting area if you need one. Feels like a spot that would make a great selfie background.

Thanks to the lighting, Ito gives off an incredibly cozy atmosphere. The Japanese music playing throughout the space only adds to the izakaya feel.

## What is in the Ito Han-sang set, and what did two people pay?

The Ito Han-sang is a set combining assorted sashimi and millefeuille nabe (a layered hot pot) for ₩63,000 — ₩2,000 cheaper than ordering both items separately. On top of that, we added udon noodles for ₩2,000, a draft beer (Kelly) for ₩5,000, and a Coca-Cola Zero for ₩2,500, bringing our total for two to ₩72,500.

The menu had so many options that it was hard to choose — everything looked delicious. In moments like this, going with a set menu is the smart move. We wanted both sashimi and nabe, and conveniently, the Ito Han-sang set had exactly that combination.

- Ito Han-sang (assorted sashimi + millefeuille nabe): ₩63,000
- Udon noodles: ₩2,000
- Draft beer (Kelly): ₩5,000
- Coca-Cola Zero: ₩2,500
- Total: ₩72,500

For two people, this combo comes highly recommended!

There was a review event and now I'm curious what the special service is! We were too stuffed by the end, so we decided to try it next time.

A boomerang shot of our draft Kelly beer and Coke Zero — haven't done one of those in a while! They poured the draft beer really full, which I loved.

## What does the millefeuille nabe at Ito taste like?

With the Ito Han-sang, the millefeuille nabe came out first. Even the order the dishes arrive in shows how thoughtful this Konkuk bar, "Ito," really is.

![Ito's millefeuille nabe, served first](https://img.superchart.com/images/ito-konkuk-izakaya-milfeuille-nabe-udon/ito-konkuk-izakaya-milfeuille-nabe-udon-12-pbklm-900.webp)

I've had the (somewhat) famous millefeuille nabe near Naebang Station, but honestly, Ito's version tastes way better. The broth had a subtle spicy kick that cut through any richness, and every ingredient was fresh. The sweetness of the napa cabbage in particular was out of this world!

The meat, napa cabbage, and perilla leaves came together like a perfect trio. Dipping them in chili sauce made it even more delicious. There were mushrooms too, which made this mushroom fanatic (me!) very happy. When I unrolled the neatly rolled-up meat, it turned out to be super long. The savoriness was at max level! The millefeuille nabe is truly a must-try.

## Ito's assorted sashimi lineup, from sweet shrimp to abalone

No one could look at Ito's assorted sashimi platter without being amazed by the visuals — we certainly were, haha. It was beautifully plated, a feast for the eyes, and then eating it was even more of a feast.

I took close-up shots of every single piece of sashimi. Every single one was delicious without exception. There wasn't a hint of fishy smell, so my friend and I kept exclaiming the whole time we ate. The sweet shrimp melted the second it touched my tongue... and there were even 3 pieces of the precious flounder fin. We each got to enjoy a piece of abalone too, which was nice. It came piled high with innards — truly the best of the best. Even the egg was delicious somehow.

![Soy sauce and chogochujang served with the sashimi](https://img.superchart.com/images/ito-konkuk-izakaya-milfeuille-nabe-udon/ito-konkuk-izakaya-milfeuille-nabe-udon-21-1a09t-900.webp)

It was tasty dipped in the chogochujang (vinegared chili paste) that came with it, but dipping it in soy sauce for sashimi suited it even better.

The vinegared rice that came with the sashimi. It's delicious too if you dab a little wasabi on it and eat it like sushi.

My friend's messy salmon sushi hahaha — it was so cute I snapped a photo right away 😂

## Finishing the nabe broth with udon noodles for 2,000 won

After we'd scooped out most of the ingredients from the millefeuille nabe at Ito, adding udon noodles for ₩2,000 was truly the smartest move of the night! You've got to finish off with carbs after all.

The udon noodles were incredibly chewy, and we kept saying how good it was the whole time we ate. Good enough to believe it came from a dedicated udon shop.

*Everything moved straight into our stomachs, haha*

Eating like this as two women left us both very happily full! Everyone, go "Ito" this place! We're already planning to bring our tea-ceremony friend group ("3-1=0" and all) back again!
