## A hearty pan of sotttukkeong pork after a workout

After working out, I was thinking, shall we have a hearty pan of meat for dinner? So I came to Sanggu's Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal Gueui Branch (상구네솥뚜껑삼겹살 구의점). This is the kind of place where, once you come for the generous spread for the price and pork grilled on a wide sotttukkeong (cast-iron pot lid), you leave absolutely stuffed. For two people, order the 500g half-pan set and enjoy a proper healing meal with minari (water dropwort) to stir-fry and two draft beers.

## Affordable drinks and unlimited wrap vegetables

There are quite a few good restaurants and pork-belly places around Gueui Station, but this is the best spot for inexpensive drinks and a delicious pan of meat for the price. Draft beer starts lightly at ₩1,900, while soju and beer are ₩3,000.

## What comes in the 500g half-pan set for two

With the 500g half-pan set, you can have both fresh pork belly and pork neck! I wondered whether 500g might not be enough for two, but once we got into it, the amount was better than expected. With so many side dishes and grilled accompaniments to enjoy, we could keep making ssam wraps and felt truly full.

As they grill the meat, they carefully put up this border all around so grease does not splatter nearby.

The meat was nicely thick overall, so it looked delicious even before eating. Grilled golden on the pot lid, it was savory on the outside and moist inside!

## A wrap topped with minari and grilled kimchi

Look at all that minari piled into the basket! There was much more than I expected. They put it over the cooked meat, and before long it wilted right down—perfect for making a wrap with bracken, kimchi, and minari.

Minari + fresh pork belly + fresh pork neck + two draft beers—₩43,000 for such a generously grilled set on the pot lid is really a good price, right?

The minari was unexpectedly what I kept reaching for that day. Fragrant minari and meat grilled just right—crisp outside and juicy inside—were such a great match on the pot lid. It also cut through the richness of the pork, and with grilled kimchi in a wrap, it turned into an endless eating session.

The pickled onions were fresh, and the clean-tasting sauce went so well with the meat. The onions were not spicy at all! They stayed perfectly crisp.

## Hearty doenjang jjigae to finish

Lastly, we ordered a comforting doenjang jjigae (soybean-paste stew). After a whole pan of meat, spooning up warm stew was a great way to finish the meal. It seemed to settle all that richness right down, with a clean yet deeply savory, cheonggukjang-like flavor that really soothed the stomach—I was so glad we ordered the stew. It was a rich doenjang jjigae that was slightly like cheonggukjang! That deep savory flavor just comes right up. I am 200% willing to come back next time.
