Going on a weekday made it nice and quiet. Gyeongju is always great whenever I go. Trying to figure out what to eat for dinner, I really wanted to go back to Dongyang Baekban, a place I'd visited before, so off I went! I ordered the gondeure rice, and the aroma and nutty flavor of the gondeure herbs made it a total rice-thief. I actually ate half of it before the chicken stew even arrived, haha. I really wanted to try the gamtae rice too, but of course it wasn't available the day I went, ugh. I went back and forth with the tomato version, but after a lot of deliberation I decided to go with the classic. I cleaned my plate that day. The sauce base is sweet rather than spicy, so it goes perfectly with rice. The well-cooked potatoes were especially fluffy and delicious, and the chicken is boneless, so there's no hassle picking meat off the bone.
